That means nothing, the people who would know they are fakes wouldn't buy them, and the people who would buy them wouldn't know, so they'd be happy.

Who did you buy them from?

If they are in fact fakes, then yes, I would replace them with decent ones.

        Well, that sucks

Should I replace them, or just deal with it?
what as the ebay item number for the caps ?
They may be an off brand and not technically a fake ?
They do not look like a top 3 or 4 name brand from what I can tell
The p605s possibly could even be a knockoff, I have gotten AO products that I could see were that way (thinner metal and slightly smaller body) but they had the logo !

I bought bulbs from ccflwarehouse. They are just a bit more pricy than overseas but they get here quicker. they also have the plug and wires, but it doesn't say how long the wires are.. their prewired sets are way up there in price.
I have also bought from a US ebay seller, but I do not see their ID anymore ?

Sanyo never use + shaped vents, it's always a K. I don't know what that one with the Y-shaped vent is supposed to be. Nichicon never use that vent shape, and the font is wrong for Chemi-con.

The rubycon and nichicons might actually be geniune. They look close enough to the real deal.

They might work OK for now, but the real problem is that they might fail again in a few years time when genuine capacitors would still be holding up fine.

In other words. And this is a good lesson for noobies.... When you buy a socalled "kit" from some unknown person. With unknown quality capacitors. You are entirely at the mercy of their choice of what to throw at you. Most of the time, it will be the cheapest bulk caps they can get their hands on. Immitations and fakes are common place.

If you really want a high quality, lasting repair; buy like Panasonic FM or FR from a reputable dealer like Digikey, Mouser, or Farnell.

To be honest I did check all those sites but the product index filters confused the hell out of me..... I kept getting zero results.

I did go back to Digikey and searched for the caps on my board with the filters set at Panasonic-FM-Capacitance-VoltageRating

Can you check my list and tell me if these caps are what I need?

That first part number doesn't show any results in capacitors, but the rest of those would do fine.

He means D-Key part # P12927-ND 22uf 50v which is a panasonic FM so should be good.
I personally would go for the FR 5000 hours v 2000 hours for a 1 cent more

                          don't order those yet
I looked at one and it is going to be a bit tight due to the size
I have to look at the rest

First off, the ones you put in there should be good for a while and you should probably tend to the bulbs and see if that is successful before considering redoing the caps
                            What I would use
                            2200x10 -493-1502-ND
                            1000x10 -493-1497-ND
                            22x50 -P14452-ND
P12387 is ok for the 330x25

on the 1000x25 and the 220x25, I would bump up to 35 volts since there is 22-24 volts being used on this section
The 1000x25 you picked out are 12.5 mm and the one will be too tight against the 3R3 black coil, so you should stick to the 10mm ones on the upright one

if you want to stick to 25 volts use
                            1000x25 10mmx22mm -1189-1245-ND

                            220x25 upped to 220x35v -1189-1305-ND
on the 1000x25-- what I would do to get them up it to 35v and get things to fit would be to use one of each of these two
                            680x35 10mmx22mm P14514-ND (for the upright 1000x25) and1200x35 12.5x27 P14446-ND for the one that is laying down

BEFORE you get any, check to see if 2mm of extra height on the caps will fit inside the case since the originals a 20mm tall

Ha ha - Looks like you have the filters figured out; and yes it takes a little longer.
I guess the others have checked your caps and given suggestions.

Don't be too hard on yourself.....once I wanted to "save money" on a quantity of some small Rubycons, so I bought from some guy on Ebay.
They looked just fine until I examined them with a magnifying glass. What was supposed to say Rubycon, actually said Rubyoon

I agree about not messing with the caps right now....... I ordered a set of cclf's from cclf warehouse last night.

I ordered a set that is supposed to be a kit for my exact monitor, It was kind of expensive but I was drained searching and searching for cclf bulbs.......

                                  Thanks Again : )
