Samsung U28E850R power supply ( p6514_fsm) driver IC

I have for mentioned Samsung Monitor which is showing no signs of life

Upon inspection of the power board it looks like the mosfets gave up which took out the resistor, like expected, but unfortunately also the driver IC.

The ic is, unfortunately, beyond recognition.
I was wondering if someone can inform me which ic goes here.
    See attached images.

In a case like this the first thing I would do is look in the unit to see if the ic top is somewhere, even a partial number might help. What are the numbers on the mosfets? maybe a similar schematic can be found.
I suspect it is a S3310A even the 9 of the date code looks similar

      Thanks for the reply.
I've looked but can't find (part) of the cap anywhere. (found the top of the burned resistor, but that's it.)

Someone suggested it might be a S3311 and you could swap that with a NCP1200D60R2G.
But that was based of samsung regularly using the S3311 in other devices, not any experience with this particular power supply board.

      The mosfet is a 60s360p7.

If i can't get the power supply to work at all i might convert it to use an external 14v power brick, which aren't too expensive.

The bn44-00605a circuit is very similar in that area (component values different) What is left of the ic does seem to suggest a S3310 (you can see part of the last digit 0)
I didn't look close enough at the picture for the mosfet number, now that I did I see what looks like a small burn mark above the C in QM801CS, I would check that CM801 is not bad, either shorted or it may just be cracked, they do like to short and should be replaced with a 2kv type, not the usual 1kv.

It looks like something shorted to QM801CS drain pin on the top photo

Oh yeah the mosfets QM801CS is shorted completely. Thats the 60s360p7. I already removed that from the board

The mosfet is probably the first thing that failed.

I'll check cm801 as well thanks.
I ordered replacements for the broken parts.

The cap i should have. Otherwise i can source it at the local electronics shop

I would also replace CM806, the cap on the vcc line of the ic, they usually go bad as the power supply is always on.

Turns out it wasnt the right driver ic.
I'm not gonna spend much more time on this. I'm converting it to use external power.

Printed an adapter plate and added a jack.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                    Assuming...

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
                    by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...

Modification to a ZD-987 desoldering/soldering station using a external switching power supply
                    by sam_sam_sam
I have been working on this concept for quite some time now with limited success but recently I found a switching power supply that is setup for the voltage that this soldering station needs to operate at however it also needs part of the secondary circuit from the original switching power because you need several voltage rails

I once tried to get a ZD-915 desoldering station to work on a 18 volt battery power supply but unfortunately things did not go well but I did find a work around but I might try this idea again but going at a little differently more about this another time...

Samsung BN44-00262A H37F1-9SS power supply help finding blown value components!
                    by cheeky2
This Samsung combined power supply and inverter was replaced a while ago from a Samsung 37inch LE37B530P7W TV. However I would like to repair this one.
I have replaced the Mosfets Q1820 and Q1821 ( FDPF7N50U) which were both blown and the fuse FM802S. The schematic for this power supply that is attached doesn't relate to this power supply as the driving transistors and diodes are D1830, D1831, D1832, D1833, Q1811 & Q1810 are nowhere on the schematic!
Does anyone know what the components for D1830, D1831, D1832, D1833, Q1811 & Q1810 should be? I ask as I did change the Mosfets...

Hello Everyone, this is my first post and I am excited to be a part of such a great community. I have two years of college in Electronics Engineering Technology. Ive been tinkering with electronics sine about 1990. I know enough just to be dangerous, so be gentle.
