    VX912 with FSP035-1PI01

    Good day to you,

I'm wondering if you could assist me in repairing the powerboard of my Viewsonic VX912 with a FSP035-1PI01 please.

The screen does the blinking on/off problem. I successfully repaired it once before, same issue, using info on this site, of which I am very grateful. It worked for another 18 months or so. At that time I replaced the 2 capacitors, C661 and C664, on the lower right of the board and they still look in good condition, though I understand that it is not a guarantee that they still work.

I would be very grateful if someone could have a look at the pictures and suggest a possible fix. C662 looks a bit bulgy, a good start maybe? Do I just cut off the cover to reveal values?

I did try a replacement second hand board and that gave a different problem, power led is on but screen remains black. With this original board I do see a picture for a split second before the monitor resets.

Again, most grateful for any input.

    Jon

C662 (cap wrapped in balck shrink tubing by the connector) is bad, top is bulging, that cap is part of the Pi filter for the B+ that is used for running the main/logic board.
You need to remove those brown glue also, some of them already turn dark brown which mean they are conductive.

Yes, you need to replace C662. Make sure to use a good quality, low esr, 105C capacitor such as panasonic FM series. Or Nichicon. That capacitor is definitely bulging.

          C662 replaced, still no luck.

On further inspection I found this on the large capacitor (C114), that can't be good.

It's labelled as a 100uF 400v, I've had a look on a component site but there's so many different material types, I'm confused. Would love some advice on a replacement.

          Thank you kindly.

In the second picture that dried liquid you see is glue, try to detach the cap from board and read the specs on it, it is surely at 400v and maybe a 82 or 100uF, not low esr, 85 degrees will probably be ok.

If replacing the Big cap does not fix it !!! then on your Image 1 at the top right there is an Inverter transformer and in front of that an Orange/Brown Capacitor..although I cannot be sure from the photos BUT compare the 'thickness' of the cap with the one in front of the other Inverter Transformer and if it looks as if the size is different, then you probably have to replace that AND its transformer, which also may have burnt out, these are common fauklts on this Board.

                Hello pros,
I have an HP G8 830, motherboard 6050A3426501-MB-A02, which was not starting and was not charging the battery. After checking the coils, the 5 volts was not present.
And I found a damaged component(U60200 - BTXEHF), but I can't identify it. Also, I have 13 volts at its IN terminals as well as throughout the main circuit—I don't know if that's normal.
Do you have any ideas to help me? I would be really grateful.
                Thx in advance...

I search bios for this model.

                S\N: MP2CP9W5
                MO: MPNXB2B2101F
                MTM: 82SН005ЕRK
                Board: Compal HLI42 LA-L961P Rev1.0

The laptop responds to the power button, the indicator next to the button starts to light, but there is no video.
The hub starts to heat up a little.
A small inspection showed that all power supplies are raised, except for VCC_CORE and VCC_GT - there is no exchange on the SVID bus between RT3624BE and the processor.
Power consumption from a laboratory power supply (when connected instead of a battery) is 13V, 370mA....

                Dell Precision M4400 BIOS Request
                by Amber TC
Laptop has firmware issues (EC and BIOS) with plans to replace both Chips.

I already have the EC firmware extracted.... But the BIOS is very weird.

Macronix MX25L3205D Chip. 4MB. That is the BIOS chip. I plan to flash a Winbond to replace it.

Pin 1 (CS) and Pin 5 (MOSI) Broke off the SOIC-8. After Extraction (During it both pins were loose, desoldering is mandatory for Precision M4400 bios extraction)

I extracted 5 different BIOSes that have incomplete headers using flashrom. (All 5 extractions are corrupt)

                I need a full dump....
