First post, so lets hope I'm doing this right.
Issue
Occasionally when switching the monitor on, the screen would power up, display my desktop and after a few seconds, switch back to standby. On occasion this would happen during usage.
Although this sounds like an occurrence of "2 seconds to black", the power LED goes from blue to orange as it makes the step back to standby, and as far as I can remember (stopped using this monitor), there was no image shown at all.
At first I could power cycle the monitor a few times and it would start working again, but over time, the success rate of this dropped. After that I would usually switch the monitor off for a little while, go do something else, then come back and the monitor would work for a little while.
As this issue was sporadic, I swapped to a spare monitor and put the Iiyama to one side.
History of the monitor
I picked this monitor up on the members market at OcUK for around £90.
Maybe the reason for sale was due to the occasional slip up that I outlined above.
Next steps?
Both of the boards use some Hermei capacitors, so I am planning on replacing these to see if it brings the monitor back to a usable state.
Decided on replacing all of them as the forum points them out as a bad manufacturer.
As I've gotten my moneys worth out of the monitor, and currently have a spare, I haven't got much to lose trying to fix this myself, as it was just going to be recycled otherwise. Paying someone else to fix it would probably be more than it's worth, and at least if I try to fix it, I learn in the process.
Questions
I have attached a few pictures of the power board (hopefully that's the right word) and the main board. If any more or better images are required, just let me know.
Thanks.
Andy

Questions
- Does this sound like an issue linked to bad capacitors?
- Would it be sensible to also replace the hermei capacitors on the mainboard?
- Apart from visual checks, are there any ways to test for bad capacitors? (I may be able to get hold of various meters from a friend).
