When replacing fuses in monitor power supplies, should you use the slow-blow kind or the normal kind?

Re: fuse question
If its SMD then most of the time i see them as fast blow. If its the main fuse right after the power input then most of those are slow-blow. It just depends on the application. -
Re: fuse question
It often tells you on the board - there is a message saying use ONLY the same type of fuse? Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

Re: fuse question
If you look on the metal shoulders on the fuse it might say more.
What I am thinking is that if it is a slow blow it is usually described as a T4A 250v T= Time delay. Otherwise its a normal fuse - you should replace glass with glass ceramic with ceramic. (Not that I always do)Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

Re: fuse question
If you are working on a board that repeatedly blow fuses put a filament light bulb
across where the fuse would go. If this is a mains fuse use a 40 or 60 watt 240v bulb.
If there is a short the bulb will light bright if not it will light then dim as the board powers up saving fuses. Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

Re: fuse question
Well I'm hoping that it won't repeatedly blow. I just got the monitor (was turned in for recycling) and after replacing the caps since there were bad ones, it was still dead. I checked the fuse and it was bad so I figure it won't hurt to get a few extras "just in case" since I have to place an order anyway.Comment

by momakaNormally, I never post repairs this quick after I do them, because… I am usually very slow.
But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though.
I picked it up last November from someone on my local Craigslist. It wasn’t very close to where I live, but was close to a family friend that I had to go visit anyways. So after watching the posting on Craigslist for a few weeks and seeing it getting...

by ant3202Hi Everyone
Lately I am experiencing the deja-vu incident on one of the led monitor like this.

by Rick_1234Good evening, gentlemen.
I have a problem with my monitor. It turns off after a few seconds or flickers. Shining a flashlight on the screen doesn't show any image, so I guess it's not the "2 seconds to dark" I read in the forum.
To turn it back on, I have to press the power button twice. Then after a few seconds it turns off again or flickers. See video.

Things I tried
- Bought a new AC adapter thinking that was the problem but the problem...-
