Acer X223W - Repair or Replace

The monitor started turning off when the computer was idle, like it normally would, but not turning back on. Restarting and giving it some time would allow it to turn on again.

Now it does not turn on, no backlight, just a flashing blue power light. Normally when it is on the light is solid blue, or amber when in power saving mode. It is almost 5 years old at this point.

There is at least one bad cap on the board. I don't have a multimeter or soldering iron/supplies, so I could buy what is needed and attempt to replace them, or grab a new board for $25 off of ebay.

Also concerning is the black mark on the back of the board under the inverter (?). Not sure if that is something to be worried about or not.

    Thanks!

The above needed supplies will probably cost you around $25. If this is a one time fix, maybe new board is your better option.

Got the new board and it worked fine, but now I need new tape to replace the old dried up tape. Will any aluminum sticky tape do or is it something special?

Or none at all if there are bolts/screws holding the chassis to the screen.

I think the person in the YouTube video was mistaken and it's not an LED-backlit monitor, and it wasn't just a year old. That model seems to be from 2008. The wires to the backlights in the video were only a pair, which is very unlikely for LEDs which use several strings and thus several wires. Those were CCFL wires. Back of power board also looks like that of a CCFL power supply, with several far-spaced components on the right side.

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

                    Hi everyone,

I'm working on an Acer Nitro 5 unit with the following specs:
                    • Motherboard: LA-J871P Rev: 1B
                    • Model: Acer AN515-55-59MT

                    • SNID: 03902728734

                    Initial Issue

The laptop initially presented graphic issues and driver failure (Code 43) for the GPU.

After preventive maintenance (cleaning, thermal paste, etc.), it powered on normally. We disassembled it again to inspect the GPU, reassembled...

I'd like to offer an Acer IPIMB-AR Rev: 1.02A fullflash BIOS (cleaned ME region). The model is for Acer Predator G5920.
It is a model that is based on Intel Z77 PCH and doesn't have on-board graphics and video connectors.
I suppose it doesn't have any restriction about discrete graphics cards (I mean they don't have to be in a whitelist).
Please don't mistake this mainboard with a similar model with on-board graphics and based on Intel B75 PCH.

                    Hello,

I'm looking for the schematic for a Acer board Yacht_TL 203022-1
The board had some minor liquid damage.
I have no shorts, have 3v, 5v, 3.3v, ... but no leds or power on.
When touching certain parts of the board with my finger, the powerleds go on or start blinking.
