I'm not sure of the answer to your question but you shouldn't assume that this will fix the problem. Something caused the fuse to blow and it is highly unlikely to be a power surge from the mains that did it. There will most probably some failed component(s) on the board that caused it to blow.

Might not have been. The 3 seconds to black is almost always an issue with the backlight inverter. It could have burnt out the fuse.

Check to see if the secondaries of the backlight transformers have any resistance, if one doesn't, then it is bad.

        Hope this helps ye,

The 'Y' on my list is 5amp..BUT suspect there a lot more wrong with it than that, suggest you add photos of top and bottom of the Board !!

The fuse goes onto a connector ??? does it say on the Board what voltage is supposed to be on there ???

Yes the Fuse does go to the connector cable between logic board and power supply. i guess its 5.2 V.

Take the resistance reading on the output side of the fuse and the circuit ground that feeds the main board to see if it has really low resistance.

Ok i replaced the Fuse, now i have another problem, the monitor stays on for a while, then goes of after a few seconds, the higher i set the brightness the shorter the time to poweroff will be.

                          any suggestions on this one?

Which one was it? I think I have the same problem in my monitor. I hear the clicking sound, but I cannot point out which ccfl is bad

I gotten a Carver CM-1090 amplifier from a friend who has kept it in storage for decades. Opened it up, thick layer of dust cumulated everywhere. Vacuumed it semi-cleaned, and blown off as much as possible the remaining dust. This is a 220V version.

On initial powered up with nothing connected - it works with all the lights and button indicator lit up as pressed, etc. I then powered off, connected a CD player into the CD RCA input and powered it on. It seemed to work for a short while and when I turned the volume up and down to see the the VUs works, the power started to clicked off...

So I've had this monitor for probably a decade now, and it's finally starting to fail. Began with a little sporadic flickering, then eventually started going black (power LED stays blue, can still see image on screen with flashlight). A power on/off fixes it for a bit, but then it happens again. Once it got to the point I was dealing with this every few minutes, I opened it up and just replaced all the caps (minus the big one) on the power board with new Panasonic ones. All the old caps tested fine on an ESR meter, and this worked for 5 days. But the screen just went black again today, so...

Hello, I disassembled this dead camera, and found this WTF… Two fuses soldered one above the other !
I was pretty sure nobody touched it before, but that can't be from factory. There is flux, and capacitor is probably missing.
                                      The other weird thing : the fuses are « G » fuse : (0.75A – 8V), seems very low. The original fuse should be « O » : (32V 2,5A).
There is « O » mark beside. All fuses have the same mark letter on main board. So, I can deduce it's a « O » fuse.
And this correspond to the issus I saw : when I plug the battery, I measure the voltage dropping...

                                      by DrankinSAW
I bought an LG 37LG5020 with a very strange issue.. it turns on, the display looks fine, but still, after 2 seconds, the TV shuts the backlight off..

However, if i leave it plugged in for 20-40min.. the time it takes to shutdown the backlight, doubles (to 4 seconds)..

I bought a new inverter, set to arrive on December 13th
