I've been reading all the threads on this power board. Apparently, my monitor has same problem as others, no display, solid blue light. There is a lot of discussion on the BN44-00175A about bad resistors being the problem, caused by the brown goop they use to glue them in place on the board becoming conductive. I haven't tested any of the capacitors or resistors yet but I suspect the resistors in the attached photo may be the problem as the brown goop between them shows signs of some arcing. Can anyone tell me the value of these resistors? The brown goop has covered up the markings on them as well as the number on the board so I can't tell what they are. Thanks for your help.

You can use alcohol to soften up all them glue on the board so you can remove them a bd be able to see the color code, I also see black arcing on the little blue cap caused by bad glue.
So far I cannot find any diagram for this BN44-00195A yet.Never stop learning

Re: Samsung 245BW - Power Board BN44-00195A - No display, solid blue light.
Thank you for the replys. I did read the megathread and saw the mention of the cluster of 68 ohm resistors on the bottom of the board that go bad. However, I thought that referenced the BN-00173A board, not the BN-00195A board I have. As you can see by the picture, the 195A has a cluster of 2 by the large capacitor. Sorry about the picture, it is the best I could do with the equipment I have.Comment

Re: Samsung 245BW - Power Board BN44-00195A - No display, solid blue light.
I took another picture of the affected area of the board. I checked both resistors. They are open. I'm trying to get new ones but the color coding on the resistor is confusing me. I'm reading the colors as gold-yellow-black brown. Gold as the first bar isn't making any sense to me. Comments would be appreciated.Comment

Those two are 100,000 Ohms 5% resistors, i think they are OK, recheck the resistance reading again.Never stop learning

I would remove all the glues, especially the one that is burnt by the blue cap and see if it will fire up after glues are removed.Never stop learning

Thanks for all the good information. I like the tool. I measured the resistors. One measured 89K, the other measured 46K. Seem to be out of spec. I'll be removing the glues and see if I can get it to fire up.Comment

Well from my 30 years of experience, I have seen it goes both way, shorted out or goes open. So I always test resistor or anything else out off the circuits.Never stop learning

Re: Samsung 245BW - Power Board BN44-00195A - No display, solid blue light.
Sorry I haven't followed up on this post. I put the monitor aside for awhile while working on other projects. As suggested in other posts, I cleaned the brown goop off of all the components on the board. That crap must have been very corrosive as many of the components show significant affects from it. I put the monitor back together and it still exhibits the same problems, solid blue power light, black screen.
I did find a service manual with schematics on another post. I will see if I can isolate the problem board by taking resistance and voltage measurements as other posts indicate the problem could be in the main board, not the power board. However, seeing the damage that brown goop did to some of the components, I'm pretty sure it will be a power board issue.
After I do the investigation, I will report he progress and post the pictures you asked for. Thanks for your patience.Comment

by cajoegHello, I'm new to the group and to trying to repair a LCD TV. During the past few years, I've been collecting/repairing/restoring vintage personal computers (Commodore, Apple II, Atari, TRS-80, Texas Instruments, and Timex Sinclair). This has been my retirement hobby. Now I've gotten interested in trying to repair a LCD TV that I have and used regularly when working on vintage computers.
The LCD I'm working on is a Insignia NS-LCD019. I've downloaded the service manual that I could find, but it must be a different revision since not too many items in the service manual match the TV... -
