plv16190 wont turn on, Power Supply LS1904006a-w08 ver 1.0

    good morning

    i have acquired two tv's (plv16190)

one comes on and when hooked to a computer works sometimes other times the screen is distorted like the controller has a memory chip problem like the old video cards use to do after they have been over heated.

the second one has the red power light and when you push the power button the power light blinks but the tv doesn't come on.

these are cheep off brand sold cheep on black Friday specials. i'm thinking that both are bad controller cards and the psu's are fine no sings of bad caps, the psu has 12v coming out, there are two more connections marked dim and blk does any one know how i could light up the screen with out the controller board i'm assuming the dim and blk is what turns on the lights i find no voltage on those pins. should i apply 12v or 5v etc...........?

    connector psu to control board
    12v
    12v
    12v
    gnd
    gnd
    gnd
    dim
    blk

psu board has the cathode connection

i have found a controller board that should work to make this tv a monitor

Suspect that the 'blk' means Backlight and if you put a 1k resistor between 5v and and that pin, that should turn the lamps on.

Measure the DC voltage at the BLK pin when the monitor is plugged in but not turn on, and when the monitor is ON, I expect to see around 0V when the monitor is off, and >3v when moniotor is ON.

i only have one of the tv's disassembled right now and it is the one that doesn't come on at all, so i hunted around on the controller board until i found 3.27v and jumped it to blk and the lights lit thank you all for your help.

That means there is problem on the main board, next step will be checking the voltages and voltages regulators to see if they are putting out the correct voltages.

i'm not going any further with the repair, i striped down the lcd and maid a computer monitor out of it.

would it be possible to use the cclf inverter to check other screens ? also this psu/cclf unit is for a 19 inch screen will it check a 22 inch?

the psu puts out 12v can i just resistor it to 3.3v to turn on the cclf tubes for testing?

Hey everyone, hope everyone is fine, I got an issue hoping you guys can help me,

I got a HP V193 monitor it has a E59670 now i got a few of these, been using them for long time now, however this particular monitor was blacking out for a few times then after unplugging and plugging it back in it gets back to normal until now its dead.

I tried switching the power supply board with another similar monitor and it works,so I'm trying to fix this power supply board I got some basic in electronics as a hobbyist.

              Steps taken so far:

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
              by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

              Assuming...

Normally, I never post repairs this quick after I do them, because… I am usually very slow. But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though. I picked it up last November from someone on my local Craigslist. It wasn’t very close to where I live, but was close to a family friend that I had to go visit anyways. So after watching the posting on Craigslist for a few weeks and seeing it getting...

Modification to a ZD-987 desoldering/soldering station using a external switching power supply
              by sam_sam_sam
I have been working on this concept for quite some time now with limited success but recently I found a switching power supply that is setup for the voltage that this soldering station needs to operate at however it also needs part of the secondary circuit from the original switching power because you need several voltage rails

I once tried to get a ZD-915 desoldering station to work on a 18 volt battery power supply but unfortunately things did not go well but I did find a work around but I might try this idea again but going at a little differently more about this another time...

              Hi Everyone

Lately I am experiencing the deja-vu incident on one of the led monitor like this.
              https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...lashing-on-off

The monitor is HP 27es LED Monitor
              https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Deskto...e/td-p/6804692

The monitor will randomly blackout and display no signal and will recover again.
Sometimes need to power and off again to restore the display but...
