memory wise i'm a little confused
i understand it will take two one gig sticks of memory

    pc3200 ddr-333 184-pin 2.50v nonECC

  • low esr caps for lcd inverter

    hi
i came across a couple 19" cheep lcd tv's both exactly the same and both with electronic problems. i had no use for tv's so i wonted to make them monitors, on ebay you can buy controller board and lcd inverters. so i bought two and they worked out great Except after a mount or two they started flashing when you turn them on, one did it first so i contacted the company i bought it from and they sent me a new lcd inverter. i installed it and now the other one is starting to do the same thing. so my though is each inverter has 2x 220uf 25v 105c caps on them and i'd like to replace...

  • Re: hp f2105 conversion to smd led

i am assuming there are two rails running inside theses strings of leds from one end to the other, and every led picks up 12v through one resister my thinking is each 5050 smd is really three leds in one chip.

the break every three chips is just connivance you can cut on the line and solder to the little pads, i think you can buy these in a 16' roll thus shortening up a string where ever there is a place to cut, these end up every three leds about every two inches.

try it with 54 lol see if it works out, two strings of 30 leds - 3 leds from each string leaves 54 leds in two strings

right now on my work bench with the voltage regulator working both strings are drawing .73 amps isn't that 730 ma ? and the regulator is rated 1 amp oh and there were three leds cut off each string .

so there is 24 5050 leds drawing .73 amps on 12v dc right ?

they started to flicker at 4.5v and came on dim at 5v
both sets hooked together drew .74 amps on 12.v

with my variack 1-130v 20 amp and a d5sb 20 bridge , at 15v they were getting hot, noticeably hot i don't think what ever they are in bedded into to make them water proof holds the heat in. now you can get the strips that are not water proof they might work better if your going to feed them more voltage.

this is the first large monitor i have taken apart and it has a 1/2 or better thick piece of plexie / lexon glass that the leds shine into that may help with the light distribution

    ok here they are :

    lights out
    lights on
    lights on movie playing

you can see some of the leds at the top and the bottom but when i put the strips in i didn't stick them to the pans, if they were stuck to the pans you wouldn't see the led i believe.

i have a couple 100, 5050 smd's i'm thinking of making a picture frame with thoes and a 21 inch sq dell, i will try my hand at pwm on that, these pre maid strips the leds are 11.5mm apart...

  • Re: hp f2105 conversion to smd led

    hi guys

as stated before i'm going to take the inverter pcb right out.

led are water proof flexible smd 5050 leds, they were already set up for 12v ready to go i just cut 3 leds off cause i need them shorter.

this was just quick and dirty experiment but i'm not taking that screen apart again lol

do you guys think i should put caps before and after the voltage regulator as the pdf shows for test conditions ....

    hi jetadm123

i was going to take the inverter pcb right out it is a separate board and the monitor works with out it hooked up, and take the power from cn7 of the psu pcb.

am i correct that the back or mounting hole of TO-220 L7812CV is ground the same as the centre leg of the regulator ? if this is true couldn't i just screw it to the steel plate that is holding the pcb boards that would give it a 10" x 21" heat sink.

variable output regulator, i'm not sure how much voltage these will take...

  • hp f2105 conversion to smd led

    hi
i have had this f2105 for a while and when i got it i searched google and everyone said the ccfl's were bad. and at that times i didn't wont to put $60.00 into it, a while back bought a strip of water proof flexible smd 5050 leds. so last night i took the screen apart and the strip of leds fit right in the ccfl tray, this morning i put it back together for testing and hooked the two led strings to a computer psu, after testing i find the the psu on the monitor is putting out 18.98v and 3.3v and i need 12v @ .75 amp

do you think a voltage regulator will work? i was thinking...

  • Re: plv16190 wont turn on, Power Supply LS1904006a-w08 ver 1.0

i'm not going any further with the repair, i striped down the lcd and maid a computer monitor out of it.

would it be possible to use the cclf inverter to check other screens ? also this psu/cclf unit is for a 19 inch screen will it check a 22 inch?

the psu puts out 12v can i just resistor it to 3.3v to turn on the cclf tubes for testing?...

i only have one of the tv's disassembled right now and it is the one that doesn't come on at all, so i hunted around on the controller board until i found 3.27v and jumped it to blk and the lights lit thank you all for your help.

    good morning

    i have acquired two tv's (plv16190)

one comes on and when hooked to a computer works sometimes other times the screen is distorted like the controller has a memory chip problem like the old video cards use to do after they have been over heated.

the second one has the red power light and when you push the power button the power light blinks but the tv doesn't come on.

these are cheep off brand sold cheep on black Friday specials. i'm thinking that both are bad controller cards and the psu's are fine no sings of bad caps,...
