I've an iron solder and a DMM but i don't know how to use it becouse i'm noob in EE... i can make soldering but i don't know how to use a dmm

2 seconds to black can be

    a) bad caps
    b) bad inverter transformer (marked in red paint are likely your secondary inverter pins)
    c) bad ccfls
    d) bad ccfl wiring (especially the return wire)

All are explained starting with post #19 and #20 at (including how to use a multimeter)

There are lots of how to use a multimeter videos on youtube. I know, I have probably looked at them all when I first started.

Set the DMM to the 2K ohms scale.

Hi, finally i found the problem... it was a ccfl that has gone... at the moment i broke my replacement... I buy a new CCFL but i must wait 1 month or more... is there any way to "isolate" the CCFL inverter transformer to give power only to the working CCFL? I think that i can use the monitor with 3 CCFL for the moment... Thanks...

              Try at your own risk.

Guide me through repairing a Dell p2210f LCD ccfl backlight monitor
                by DanPoka
I bought this p2210f dell monitor to fix. Schematic is the same as p2210.
Behaviour is that monitors comes on but then backlight switches off almost instantly. If I look with flashlight I can still find the "No signal message". So definitely a backlight issue. Trying to advance the issue I proved that the protection circuit is switching off the backlight by shorting out C3 and resistor to disable the INL chip then re enable by removing the short.
This is where it gets interesting. When I disassembled the monitor to solder leads on c3 capacitor I noticed the backlight flickered...

HANNSG Hi221 -- 2 secs to black feat. CCFL flicker & "burn" marks on power board
                by ttmi100x
                Greetings everyone,

I have a HANNSG Hi221 monitor that exhibits two seconds to black issues (backlight goes off, display is still on as confirmed by shining a flashlight on it) with some additional oddities...

The monitor failed on me with a standard "2 seconds to black" some time ago prompting me to initially replace most of the electrolytic capacitors (some of them were bulging/leaking).
Things kinda sorta worked for a night, then the problem returned along with some flickering and "buzzing" noises.

                Upon closer inspection...

EIZO SW3031W monitor blue color instead of black
                by valscu
                Hello,
I have an Eizo SX3031W monitor and after a period i had problems with the tcon board. I did reflow, it went well for a while after but the problems appeared again. The second reflow attempt was a failure, the tcon board stopped working. In the meantime, I bought a perfectly functional Samsung 305T monitor from which I took the tcon board and installed it in the Eizo monitor. Since I turned on the monitor, the blue color appeared in the background instead of black. And also in Windows, appears blue instead of black. I tried various settings from the monitor and driver settings but...

AOC U34G3XM, new monitor, black screen with backlight on, possible shortcircuit during dissassembly
                by turmix
Hello, I'm working on a new deskmod pc project and have a problem with my monitor, an AOC U34G3XM, well, I may have bricked it.

The monitor was dismanteled and the separate parts parts integrated in the desk. the screen panel alone is on the upper part, and main board/video board + power board on the back of the desk (not enough place on the cover to fit it)
At first everything was working smoothly, then I decided to change the connexion between the video board and the screen for a longer one. Still working fine

During another reassembly, I made a mistake, and...
