Re: Samsung Syncmaster 931BW - No Power
If it's a cap it would have to be on the logic board. From what i can tell the power supply is working correctly.
I don't know if this the correct name for it but,I would suspect a problem with the the user eprom on the logic board.
Someone else will have to answer if it is serviceable or not.Whatever I do, I consider it a success, if in the end I am breathing, seeing, feeling and hearing!Comment

Re: Samsung Syncmaster 931BW - No Power
2 more thing I tried.
1. I went to the troubleshooting no video step (analogical one) and skipped the tests required an oscilloscope to the step checking the voltage on CN400 (the connector that goes from the logic board to the LCD), and there was no 5V on pin 1,2 and 3. Following that I tested the PANEL_EN and BL_EN signal (they should High and Low for ON), and both of them were Low (the PANEL_EN one was 0.6V).
I also tried testing the digital troubleshooting part, since it revers to the same 1,2,3 pins for 5V, but couldn't find the resistances they claim.
2. The computer seems to recognize the monitor though. I don't have a second monitor to test, but I unplugged the signal cable while the monitor was plugged in, and I got that windows sound of disconnected device. When I plugged the signal cable back in the reconnected device sound played.
Any suggestions where I can go from here?Comment

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by PantherDaveHi all!
I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅
I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

by GLISITHi all,
TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!
I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!
A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about... -
by hill01Samsung UE75MU7009TXZG Endless Power Cycle
Hi everyone and thanks in advance for any help I might get here
My Samsung TV is about 4 years old. The exact model number is UE75MU7009TXZG.
About half a year ago I started seeing occasional green frames pop up while watching movies. I mean literally green frames. Not the image turning green, but the entire screen turning green for a split second. This happened maybe once or twice during a 2 hour movie. So no big deal, but clearly something was not quite right.
Since a few days, the TV won't turn... -
by Journey11Hi All,
First time posting here ... my name is Kevin but my friends call me Journey.
I have a Samsung 75" LCD model UN75RU8000FXZA that I don't remember the original fault other than it wouldn't power up anymore.
After it sat for many month's I decide to look at it again. The motherboard seemed to have power regulation issues. After much fussing I decided to just get a new MB.
It came a few days ago and I installed it now just cycles the power relay on and off ... when on the backlights light up and then dim and then relay kicks off and the whole things starts again.... - Loading...
