    gateway lp2407 problems

Hi guys my name is chirs, I'm new to the site. I'm also a newbe, resently been toying around with electronic and fixed a few so purchase a broken gateway monitor in which the buttons light up and plays music on start up, but there is no display or backlight working. Form reading on the internet I Thought would be an easy fix so I bought a kit and installed all new capasitors (except for the tiny ones cause the kit did not include those) well as you can guess it did not work. It maybe my solder, like I said i'm new to this. Can someone give me any further advise? Here are some pictures and a link to my photo album if the pics don't show up. Any help would be great

Post your pictures on this forum using the manage attachments function and please do not post inline for the following reasons ...

    https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showpo...5&postcount=12

Max resolution is 2000x2000 and roughly 4MB per pic.
    --- begin sig file ---

If you are new to this forum, we can help a lot more if you please post clear focused pictures (max resolution 2000x2000 and 2MB) of your boards using the manage attachments button so they are hosted here. Information and picture clarity compositions should look like this post.

We respectfully ask that you make some time and effort to read some of the guides available for basic troubleshooting. After you have read through them, then ask clarification questions or report your findings.

Please do not post inline and offsite as they slow down the loading of pages.

Check the fuse on the inverter board. A good fuse should measure less than 1.0 ohms.

Did you replace those Su'scon caps on PSU at c867 & c868?

Try replacing the 47 uf 50V and the TEAPO next to the rubycon on PSU as well.

In image img8492u, The Panasonic cap on the inverter board to the right is folded 90 degrees this could create a poor connection or damage the leads in the cap.

Also found a thread dated a year old, it may help or not. But take inconsideration that there are different designs and revisions of boards so what may work in this thread may not work for you.

White SMD fuse just left of the connector on the inverter board.
