Gateway P5WS0/NV57H58u laptop (P5WEO LA-6901P REV:2.0) - (Possible) Multiple Issues
[FONT=Verdana]Greetings everyone,
I have a [B]Gateway P5WS0/NV57H58u laptop (P5WEO LA-6901P REV:2.0)[/B]. The client said the battery was not charging. Upon checking the laptop,
1) On pressing the power button, the (power button) light turns on and stays on.
2) There is no boot, or anything on the screen.
3) The fan starts and stops a few times, then it stops completely.
4) The light on the power button remains on.
5) Battery not charging (original issue).
The original problem was that the battery was not charging, but the laptop still... -

From what I understand, the available CPU options and clock speeds are as follows:[/FONT][LIST][*][FONT=Verdana][B]Intel Core i3-3120M:[/B] 2.50 GHz[/FONT][*][FONT=Verdana][B]Intel Core i3-3110M:[/B] 2.40 GHz[/FONT][*][FONT=Verdana][B]Intel Celeron (various):[/B] 1.80 GHz[/FONT][*][FONT=Verdana][B]Intel Pentium 2020M:[/B] 2.40 GH[/FONT][/LIST][FONT=Verdana]It seems as though the laptop in question already has the highest possible specifications (at the time) as it pertains to the CPU.

I have a Toshiba Satellite C55-A5285 (YEAR:2013). I intend to upgrade the RAM and install an SSD because it has become very slow but, is it possible to upgrade the CPU, too? I am aware that things can get a bit complicated, especially when it comes to temperature values and potential compatibility issues with the CHIPSET and BIOS. Does undertaking the task make any sense?
