Chasing the Schematics and also the board view for the HP Laptop board, model
according to the board markings that is read sideways against the the side frame to the graphics card or the DDR4 slot it says the following for the Model,
“MODEL:OPAK”
Then assuming the card was still inserted into the slot, releasing the card and removing it will reveal the full markings printed on the board (not the card),
“DAOPAKMB6FO REV:F”
Below in smaller print is a small logo of I think a backwards R with the letter U with the left stroke of the... -

Attached is the BIOS from a Microsoft Surface Laptop 7 - Model 2036
As of right now i am unable to confirm whether this BIOS dump works or not.
But i will update soon. Hopefully in a day or two.

My first post on this forum. Looking at the "Beginner's Guide", I am in the second group even though I'd like to fix this laptop so I can donate it to someone.
I am a computer tech but very new to electronics repair iow, a total noob but in the process of learning, hence posting here. The laptop was donated to me by a client.

I am working on a Surface Laptop GO 3, which is the new release 2024 with a i5-1230U processor. Originally, it had a 256GB SSD, then the owner attempted to upgrade it to 1TB SSD by himself. "Surprisingly", it did not boot afterwards, then changed back to the original SSD, did not boot either.
It turned out to be that just a couple of components had been knocked off when the owner was trying to get off the SSD cover with his beloved screw driver.

I have a Gateway P5WS0/NV57H58u laptop (P5WEO LA-6901P REV:2.0). The client said the battery was not charging. Upon checking the laptop,
1) On pressing the power button, the (power button) light turns on and stays on.
2) There is no boot, or anything on the screen.
3) The fan starts and stops a few times, then it stops completely.
4) The light on the power button remains on.
5) Battery not charging (original issue).
The original problem was that the battery was not charging, but the laptop still worked. My belief...
