    20" LCD screen help

Hello, I have a a Acer 20" lcd monitor with a screen problem ( no picture white screen). The problem is with the lcd panel AU Optronics M201EW02.
you can see in the picture that D10 has blown, has any got any info on what it might be?

    Thanks for any help

It might help if you put the actual Acer model number.

One of the reasons we ask for clear focused pictures is for this very occasion. If you do a search for your Acer model, you might get lucky and find a clear focused photograph from another member and be able to determine that diode from their pictures?

If you are new to this forum, we can help a lot more if you please post clear focused pictures (max resolution 2000x2000 and 2MB) of your boards using the manage attachments button so they are hosted here. Information and picture clarity compositions should look like this post.

We respectfully ask that you make some time and effort to read some of the guides available for basic troubleshooting. After you have read through them, then ask clarification questions or report your findings.

It's a SMD Schottky diode. Unable to get a proper cross reference from it's markings A4 TS.

Cross ref for A4 comes up with a dual-diode that is very tiny. Completely wrong.

IIWM, probably use one rated 1 amp or less and perhaps ~200-400v. Strictly experimentation. Going to take some poking about on DigiKey or Mouser to come up with a sub. Or, buy a refurb/new board.

What are the dimensions of this diode? As Toasty indicated, it's a Schottky diode. I'd agree, probably less than 1 Amp. The voltage rating would be considerably less than his estimate, I'd suspect 50V max.

Once the package size is determined, it's a relatively easy task to sort through the rest of the results to find an acceptable part.

Do NOT order this part without checking the package size!!!!!

On Digikey, by selecting 'Diode' 'In stock', 'Schottky', '1 Amp', '100V', 'Surface Mount' I came up with around 25 hits, one of which is B1100-FDICT-ND, at $.44. Again, this may not be the correct package size!!!!

I can't tell you what diode it is apart from the info already supplied by the previous posters.
As the input to the panel on pins 31 & 29 come from the video board as 5VDC, the diode must be a low voltage one as the IC U11 is providing all the necessary voltages to the panel. If you find a SMD 25V 1A diode, it would probabely work.
Still, you have another problem as the diode does not get fried without any reason.
Check for shorted components, like capacitors.
I am interested to know what transistor you have on your video board as 5V supply for the T-con board. It must be sitting next to the connector where the cable that goes to the t-con board is plugged in.
In my monitor, this transistor is burned and it was impossible to read what transistor it was.
By the by, my monitor is a Proview, but than our Chinese friends use all sorts of brands with the same guts.
              Cheers,
              Joseph.
