    Re: need inputs

    This is a wild guess, probably someone else can tell if im right or not, but i would guess its moisture or similar that have made the top layer of the panel get loose in the corners.

      @ digge: thanks for your input. appreciate it.

      This LCD monitor is working fine except for that screen problem.

          Re: need inputs

          I've heard of a situation where light from the back-light 'leaks' around the edges due to ill fitting parts but I've never personally seen the problem so I dunno if it looks like that.

          The solution to that is to adjust the parts and/or use electric or metal tape to block the light leakage.

              Which model Dell is that?

              I've heard of the backlight leak problem and saw a site that showed a step by step fix. They used electrical tape to seal the edges of the panel. But that was a while ago. BRB...

              Going by the picture there and comparing it to yours, I don't think you have the backlight problem. His looks like a fading effect. Yours looks like someone scraped the pixels off. Looks more like the panel edge bond has failed and the layers are separating.

              Hopefully someone has seen this before.

                    I think only number 1 is applied here since I used different video cards. caps are all checked using multitester, esr, and cap meter.

                        using this suggestion: http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/articles...klight_fix.htm

                        result is still the same.

                            I think maybe some kind of delamination problem.
