Can you tune in any AM or FM stations? have you tried playing a cassette tape?

Also, note in the service manual when replacing components, it says to use silver solder.

        R_J sorry I'm late
I can tune in to the stations, I know some local stations where a strong signal arrives and I see the stereo signal appear on the small display, the "stereo" light on certain stations and intermittent ones but I know the frequencies and I deduce that the am / fm reception part and everything is ok, unfortunately the cassette has problems makes a couple of laps and then goes into autoreverse and continue this procedure indefinitely, I had thought of fixing the mechanics of the cassette afterwards, probably due to a worn belt, but if it can be useful I could first restore mechanics can help ..
        Thanks R_J

Help troubleshooting an audio problem with an RCA SGT-250 CED Player
          by samson7point1@yahoo.com
The Problem: This player has a toggle switch to select between Stereo, Mono R, and Mono L. Regardless of the setting it outputs the sound to both the L&R audio jacks. In the Mono R position, the audio output level is normal (from both the L and R audio output jacks), in the Stereo position the audio output is about half the volume, and in Mono L, it's about 3/4 the volume. Something about putting it into Stereo mode is causing the volume to drop significantly and I can't figure it out.

The player processes the audio signal using two different reference frequencies. The "R"...

Vintage SONY Digital Clock Radio ICF-C12W no audio
          by UserXP
          Dear all,

I have this old radio clock by Sony from the early 80s, I guess. The clock display works, but is dim, the function board appears to be OK - but the radio unit shows no signs of life. It doesn't produce a single noise, crack or anything from either FM or AM band. It's like it doesn't even power up.
i opened the radio and it is full of some TRACON gray capacitors. They only have their negative strip printed, voltage and capacitace markings - no series, no temperature marking, nothing else.
My question is, do you know of this brand of capacitors and how bad are...

          clock radio / radio lifespan?
          by shelby5041
          hi
ive got a modern digital clock radio approx 15yrs old

my question is how long can a clock radio or a simple radio last ss farcas operating hours?

since elec components have limited hour lifecspan i would imagine the radio or clock radio would eventually fail.

the reason i ask is because i have my clock radio on radio function 24/7 for the past 7 years and its still working fine....i leave the radio on ..never turn off past 7years...thats approx 60000 hours

it uses very little power just a few watts i would imagine that may have something...

          Delco radio stopped working
          by Too Tall
          I have a Delco radio, Model # 16034753
It's an Am/Fm Cassette with digital display. It came out of a 88 Suburban.
The radio worked fantastic before I took it out of the Suburban.
I asked a friend who's very good at electronics, to see what it would take to eliminate the cassette player and put in an acc feed.
He only opened it up to check for power feeds etc, and what he would need to put in an acc feed.
This radio is going in my daughter's 81 pickup. She said she's going to use Bluetooth accessory through the FM.
          Sorry for long story!
