Sony STR-AV19 Left Channel weak when quiet?

I have a Sony STR-AV19 that works great when the music is on the loud side. But if things get quiet, I start to loose the left channel. It gets quiet and a little fuzzy sounding. It does the same thing no matter what the physical position of the volume knob is. It also seems to get worse if I have it running for a couple hours. I've had it taken apart and I don't see any visible damage. The service manual is available here:

Does anyone have any ideas where I should start looking? The volume knob sounds clean, so I don't think it's the potentiometer.

    -Thanks

compare the left channel to the right channel when its acting up. look with an oscilloscope on which stages of amplification things are normal or not. look also for bad solder joints and make sure that all voltage rails are good.

Check output relay - if their contacts oxidize enough to make some resistance between them then amp can act like this.

Try pushing the speaker switch a few times to clean the contacts to see if that helps, if not then a scope would be needed to trace and compare the audio signal.
Try the tone and balance controls as well to see if they have any effect on the low audio.

I finally figured out what the issue was. The speaker protection relay has bad contacts. I've by-passed it for now and will eventually order a new one to replace it since cleaning the contacts didn't help at all.

Sony str-dn850 home receiver no left channel.
            by erickeri1234
Ok start off by saying I have some tv repair but not much on the receiver end.
Picked up a Sony str-dn850 home receiver when I first plugged it in powered it up it came on and the system check relay clicked and about 3 seconds later it went into protection mode.
I powered it off and on. Comes on no problem.
Hooked up speakers and it started to pop and crackle but the volume was all the way down.. and I was only getting that sound out of the left channel. Right channel had no sound.. but every time I turn the volume up it has a smell crackling sound on ever volume number......

HH Scott Model A510 Stereo Integrated Amplifier/ Graphic EQ - Blowing fuses in the LEFT speaker channel only. Any Help???
            by Sik_6ty_Sixx
So like the title says, I have an old Stereo Receiver/Amplifier that I picked up from the goodwill, it's a HH Scott Model A510. When I first got it home it had zero output. Opened it up, notice the fuses are missing. Pop in 2 new fuses (AGC4A 250V) and try again, within 5 seconds the L channel fuse POP! I don't see any visible indications of damage or arc burns on the PCB, no popped resistors or diodes, no burnt traces or blown out caps. So I decide to just try another new fuse, POP. Swapped around my R and L speaker wires, and checked the integrity of all wires and connections. Everything looks...

Denon AVR 1908, High pitch noise on Surround back Left channel after long overhaul

            Hello,

I know some might say... just buy another one. Sell it as parts..!

So had this AMP for quite some time. Recently I saw light smoke coming out of the AMP. Had my fire extinguisher close by. Just kidding. Turned immediately all devices off from mains.
Let things cool a bit, and opened up the amp device. I clearly saw on the main board which hosts the 5X amp (5.1), 3 10 ohms 1W resistors had their leads looking black, while the rest of the remaining 2 x 10 ohms were brownish as being installed from factory.

Spent some time downloading the Service...

old X58 triple channel board... memtest86 memory speed?
            by eccerr0r
Anyone run memory speed tests with an old X58-based triple channel 1st gen or any other >2 channel board? The one I have is a Gigabyte I think.

Anyway I had four 4GB DDR3-1333 modules in the 6 memory slots and got around 11GB/sec memory speeds assuming that it went dual channel since it didn't have enough modules for triple channel. Now I stuck in two more 4GB modules, but they are DDR3-1600. I'm still getting 11GB/sec speeds according to memtest86...

Just wondering, anyone do memory speed analysis on these triple (and higher) channel memory boards? Are there any...
