I'm posting this because it seems like it maybe a common problem with this amp.
I've owned this amp for at least 7 years. Bought it used and loved it but it started shorting out randomly. You could give it a light tap and it would be okay for a bit.
I tried to fix it a couple years ago and resoldered the input jack thinking that was the issue but still the same problem.
I looked it over VERY carefully and couldn't find any bad solder joints and probing around with it on was tough because you could just barely touch the pcb ANYWHERE and it would kick in...
Anyhow, I pulled it out again yesterday because my kids have been complaining they need a guitar amp.
I finally got out the hair dryer and started heating the board up in hopes of a clue. Lo and behold when I waved it over the heat sink, it was kicking in! Then I touched it and it was wiggling like crazy! all three connections for the part were broke and also the 2 pins that hold the heat sink.
After soldering it back up it is back to 100% working!!! Love these amps too.
