Are you sure hdmi board you bought is a good working one?
Since you had good audio on old hdmi board, which means the rest of other boards are good for audio.
If you replace another good hdmi board, you should also have a good audio.

          thank you kenny

No I'm not sure the board was good. it was just for sale as is.the first board that I got with the receiver did not have any audio on it,but when I changed the caps it worked. I'm just asking what else I could check for audio. I did order an esr meter,it will be in sometime this week.

I just reread page two and I missed the part where you had to push down on the Genesis chip to get video (first hdmi board). Apply heat and see if the pic comes back. Probably needs a reball or the chip is dying.

I have a old 706 and I replaced all the 4v caps and now I only get a clicking sound when I try to turn on the sytem. It worked before but had crackling speakers and had to warm up. also no video error. I am a super rookie at this and made sure my caps were all put on properly and no solder touching. First time ever did soldering for an idea of my skill level. Thanks for any help. Ill be researching and got the cap change out idea from here so been working on it for a month and now I went backwards to just get a click instead of any sound. Thanks much for any help.
