You need service manual to check protection history to see what caused protection circuit kicked in, then go from there. If you get DC, then go check main AMP transistors for short.
Normally, DC Protection signal trace should be 3.3V. If it goes low or higher than that, then protection circuit kicks in to protect whole unit.Leave a comment:

Yes, AC RY is for AC relay.
Since you have no volt on S505, you need to check volt on pin 22 of IC401 or its power supply, VDD, L401 and D401.

Are you sure hdmi board you bought is a good working one?
Since you had good audio on old hdmi board, which means the rest of other boards are good for audio.

If you have no video on pass thru, you need to check Q8162, Q8501 and Q8401.
Q8162 and Q8501 are multiplexer (input selector switch) and Q8401 is output for HDMI ports.
Since you don't have scope, let check power supply for each chip first, then clock and data.Leave a comment:

This one is really tough for you. You might think about getting a portable oscilloscope.
I got one from amazon about $110. It is only 2 MHz but helped me to fix audio issue (only pure direct working) on one of my receivers.
Just search for sainsmart.
How about sound from analog inputs like CD or tuner?

A computer running slow doesn't mean it has voltages problem. There are a lot more factors causing a computer slowing down.
Electronically, all semi components have marginal working voltages, so if all supply voltages stay within range, it should be fine.
