Strange fault in Fisher FM-60 tuner

I have this Fisher FM-60 tuner that is behaving strangely.

It won't find any radio channels, unless I spray a little bit of cold spray to the tuner area.

After that, it immediately finds the channels and will work flawlessly for weeks.
Last time I left it running for 48 hours continuous and no problems. I also tried to unplug it for some days and it still worked.
I heated the tuner area with a hair dryer without any affect on the functionality.

Then one day, about two weeks after the last cold spray I was listening to the radio, all of sudden it lost the tuning again, and won't work again without a small bit of cold spray.

I have now cold sprayed it three times, and it will always work for couple of weeks after that. I couldn't find any cold solder joints.

My first inclination was toward a cold solder joint, as well, but I see it mentioned at the end of your message.

I have also used the following two methods in similar situations:

1- carefully let a little of the freeze spray out easily, so you get a drop and catch it with a small tool. Then place the drop onto an active component, and then continue one component at a time.

2- tap lightly with a small screwdriver at some of the locations where the freeze spray worked. Be careful not to short anything.

Of course, this will all have to be done at a time when the unit is broken...

BTW, for localize cooling, I use Q-TIP.

Are you asking about PARASOUND P3 HALO PRE-AMP?
If it is, please start a new thread with make. model, and problem you are having.
