This is the only one that I have found, which is 10A:

It depends on how hot the transformer runs, but typically a transformer will have insulation rated at 160-170°C. Therefore, operating at 145°C continuously is very unlikely, due to the risk of damage to the insulation. A holding temp around 145°C±10°C is probably OK -- it's only for fault conditions where the amp is loaded at maximum power (~400W?) for a very long time, say several hours.

Did you ever determine what you needed on this unit? I have the HT-R591 that will not power up. Any ideas? I haven't taken it apart yet. So no I haven't checked anything yet.

It needed that fuse, inside the transformer.
I have found some on Ebay.
I have just cut out (3)those white plastic pieces, from the transformer and pulled out that fuse.
I have installed the new fuse, with heat shrink tube.

Nice. Did you have any trouble soldering the fuse in?

No, it went easy. I even glued back, those white pieces that I have cut off.

Sorry to resurrect sort of an old thread but I'm having a similar issue to this one and I've checked the thermal fuse - OK. My receiver powers up eventually (after being plugged in 30 mins or more). But turns off and on rapidly and won't stop unless unplugged. The thermal fuse is showing closed circuit. The input on transformer is getting voltage and output is around 20v each coil. What should I be checking next?

Try checking the solder joints for a hairline crack around the joint. That sounds like a clear indication of a joint only making contact after warming up prior to start. Then after repeatedly losing contact as it cools while on, and then heating back up when the current breaks thus re-establishing power.
Even crap caps can be useful... such as blank rounds for prop gunfights.

Which joints are you referring to? At the transformer or just everywhere?.. Also what should my voltages be off the output of the main transformer? does around 20v each coil sound right?

Not really sure where to meter and what voltages should be at? I'm a novice at working on these so forgive me in advance - Still in the learning stages.

I would closely inspect every possible joint - at least around the fets/transistors. If a joint is suspect simply reflow the solder and continue inspecting the others.

                                Examples of such joints:

I have no idea, what can cause that repeated clicking, but I would check the final transistors for short first.
If there is voltage going to the amp(most likely + and - separate).

OK, to check the final transistors do I have to remove them from the circuit or can I test them while still in circuit?

You don't have to remove them.
Just use the ohm meter and see if any of the legs measurement shows short.
If there is a short, usually they fail at one channel and it should be a pair of transistors that are shorted. If there are big white ceramic resistors near these final transistors, you should check those too for open circuits.

Finally had a chance to take some readings.. looks like all the final transistors are good. And the white ceramic resistors in front of them all same reading of 0.2 ohm on one side and 0.5ohm in series. What else to check ?

                                            Hi all!!

Ok just got a Onkyo SKW-593 sub woofer that has no power person told me that it smoked and that his GF let the volume full when she powered off the amp and when he came to turn it on the sub played but then suddenly smoke was coming out, didn't say from where. So opened it up and saw a resistor made of metal (pic) but can't see any writing on metal par so what ever was written on it was burnt. So I'm kinda stuck here with this. I did ask for a repair or schematics in the other group section and waiting for this but I hope someone here might lend me a hand to try and identify...

                                            Hello Everyone,

I have an Onkyo TX-SR353 Audio/Video Receiver (5.1 ch with HDMI) that I am having a really hard time diagnosing and I'm about to throw this in the junk and go buy a new unit that is on sale until the 7th.

                                            Symptoms:
                                            • Intermittent (part of the reason why i'm having a hard time isolating problem), sometimes will work for 10+h at a time without issue
                                            • Original symptom was wife reported loud banging noise (like someone was banging on the wall with their fists) from the LEFT SURROUND speaker and then the unit shut off.
                                            • I swapped the Left and Right surround
                                            ...

Help choosing replacement transformer for Levoit 600S SMPS

                                            Hello Community,

I'm attempting to repair the SMPS on a Levoit 600S air purifier. The transformer is likely open. It has six pins. 2 pairs on the primary side (one pair tested open) and 1pair of legs on the secondary side. Legs on the secondary side are spread wide apart (end-to-end). I've circled them in blue. Dimentons of the transformer are 22x23mm. Marking on the transformer are EE16 1.9mH-B. Fuse for the powerboard is fuse 250V 3.15A. I've been unable to find an exact match and I'm hoping for some help here to find a suitable replacment.

                                            Peace

                                            Original Xbox 1.0 PSU: Foxlink FTPS-0002 Rev. B. — 12 V low, 5 V high — transformer?

                                            Hello!

I'm looking at an original Xbox PSU: Foxlink ftps-0002 rev. B. The 12 V output is too low, and the 5 V output is too (?) high. Unfortunately I don't have an oscilloscope but only a DMM for diagnosis.

                                            Measured voltages with no load:

                                            After rectifier diodes
                                            12V: 6.17 V
                                            5V: 5.67 V

Secondary transformer pins AC measurement (really don't know if this says anything)
                                            12V: 2-2.5 V
                                            5V: 1.04 V

I also have another (working) Xbox psu from Delta. The same measures there, in order, being: 10.79,...

Is it possible for transformer substitution?

                                            Hi all,
Got this local made DC power supply (12/14V) given free as the transformer has melted. There is no marking or indication to identify what type or rating of transformer used.
Fyi,. I had a busted autogate mainboard with transformer with marking 13-0-13 . Is this the 13v dc type transformer?
                                            My questions are
                                            1. How do i test to see if the transformer is in good working condition?
                                            2. Can this transformer (marking 13-0-13) be used to replace the melted transformer on the DC power supply?
Hope you guys understand what i was asking. My intention is...
