    Creative Gigaworks S750 - Relay issue?

    Hello, I've got a Creative Gigaworks sub that behaves a little oddly and I wondered if anyone could point me in the right direction as to how to resolve the issue. Following the helpful posts on this forum I've already replaced the capacitors in the PSU and brought it back to life from the flickering power light and refusal to switch on. However now I'm trying to figure out what causes it to trip out when I turn it on after a period of time spent in standby.

    The symptoms are that when I first press the power button on the separate volume control the power light changes from red to green for an instant before a plink kind of noises comes from the sub unit (which I assume is a relay switching or something tripping and resetting) and it goes back to red. If I then press the power button again it seems to power up normally and works absolutely fine but due to the relay/trip going it has forgotten my volume settings and I have to reset my levels. It seems to do this each time it's turned back on after a period left on standby.

    Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing it and what I should do to try and fix the issue. It has been doing it since being fairly new but given my recent success with replacing the capacitors and bringing it back to life I'd like to try and resolve this niggling issue if at all possible! Thanks!

    (if it would be of any use I can probably get a video of it doing whatever it's doing when it trips)

      Some DC-protection kicking in? It would be interesting to get a 'scope probe (or at least a multimeter) on the output...

              I've got a multimeter but not an oscilloscope. So where would I need to measure? The output of the psu into the amplifier?

                  No, the output of the amplifier itself, where it "meets" the speaker that those noises come out of

                      Check/replace the DIACs on the power supply board...

                              You can find power supply schematics here: Index of /S750 PSU/Power Supply Schematics. Anyway have fixed quite a few of these speakers already (more coming in soon). Primarily have to get rid of degraded glue first, especially at the standby power supply section (particularly the blobs around the opto-isolator). Besides badcaps (especially those 470uF 200V CrapXons), sometimes there are other component failures as well (e.g. 1N4004 diode, 0R resistor, Su'scon/CrapXon 47uF 25V capacitor, etc). The power supply design isn't too complicated, and pretty easy to fix...

                                      Usually in all my repairs, first and foremost I would replace all electrolytic capacitors (get rid of those CrapXons, many of them are 85C general purpose ones) with better capacitors from Nichicon (HE, PW, PS and/or CS series) and/or Panasonic (e.g. TS-ED, FM, ED and/or EE series). Those 330uF 100V ones on the secondary side I've used Rubycon (ZLH or ZLJ series). All replacements are either low ESR and/or high ripple current handling. For that 0.1uF one very close to the toasty heatsink, can use high temperature ceramic capacitors (either NP0/COG, X8R or X7R) instead of another electrolytic.

I've checked around but cannot find one that goes as high as 6800 and 50v. With your obvious knowledge, what makes would you suggest to substitute for the CapXon that would be available here in the United States. Lastly, what does LP vent mean before the temperature?

                                              Hi

                                              I have system Creative Gigaworks ProGamer G500 (production 2006 year). Last two months sound began to disappear, triger: use remote but wired volume controller. Sometimes sound system return back to correct mode but after changing volume problems return again. All LED indication concontroller corrects work - but sound absent.
                                              Syndrome : if power off and connect headhones to wired controller - sound in phones play (looks like capicitors discharging) short time.
                                              In google similar problems absent : present solution for unexpected cutting off or damaged amplifier chip....

                                              Hi everyone,

                                              I require some help with my TV. The TV standby light blicks on and off with a clicking sound (relay?) from the back. After I opened up the TV, I set about troubleshooting by unplugging the boards to try and isolate the problem. My troubleshooting suggests that the logic board is causing the issue, but it could entirely be the YSUS board which is only activated once the logic board is connected.

                                              I have recorded a video which I thought would be an easier way to explain the problem and show the boards at the same time.

                                              I would like to try and identify...

                                              Does anybody have any experience with these Burco units at all there is no record of them on the forum lol and a proper service manual would be nice. I invite you all to pesuade me not to botch repair it with a 5v relay, read on.

                                              This unit was rescued from a skip 3 years ago, the only fault it had then was no backight display (plus it wanted a new probe set and top seal) but the screen was never an issue you can still see the screen as is and I just use it to get 5 Litres of very hot...

                                              Hi everyone,

                                              I'm working on a MacBook Air 2020 (A2337, board 820-02016) and running into a strange USB-C issue. I've gone through quite a bit of testing and part replacement, but I'm stuck — hoping someone here can shed some light.

                                              🛠 Original Issue
                                              The machine initially wouldn't negotiate 20V over USB-C — stuck at 5V.
                                              Diagnosis showed PP1V5_UPC0_LDO_CORE shorted to ground.

                                              I replaced U3100 (UF400) using a donor board (A2179), and the machine powers on fine now.

                                              ⚠️ New Problem: One USB-C Port Only Works in One Orientation...

                                              Three 820-01700 32GB Logic Boards Same Issue: Won't Wake From Hibernate

                                              I have three identical-spec 820-01700 boards (2.6/32/512), and ALL THREE boards came to us with the same fault, from different sources: The boards don't wake from hibernation with the keyboard or lid, they ONLY wake when you press the power button. I understand this is a very minor issue, but the boards must be fixed!

                                              We will of course begin with the obvious (checking lid signals), but I couldn't help but notice these three boards were all 32GB variants. Has anyone noticed an issue relating to these 32GB boards in particular? I of course don't think it's a RAM issue, but it's bizarre...
