60" LG 60PB690V relay clicking issue

    Hi everyone,

I require some help with my TV. The TV standby light blicks on and off with a clicking sound (relay?) from the back. After I opened up the TV, I set about troubleshooting by unplugging the boards to try and isolate the problem. My troubleshooting suggests that the logic board is causing the issue, but it could entirely be the YSUS board which is only activated once the logic board is connected.

I have recorded a video which I thought would be an easier way to explain the problem and show the boards at the same time.

I would like to try and identify the faulty component if it's in one of the boards that are at the back rather than purchase a new board (if we can work out what it is).

I have a multimeter and have a soldering station so I can have a go at testing/replacing components as required.

    Video link (3min 41sec): https://youtu.be/8IULh7uoGXs

    Thank you all in advance

    EDIT:
Power board part number: EAY63168603 (PCB: EAX65359531, Rev: 1.0)
YSUS board part number: EAX65331001 (2.0)
ZSUS board part number: EAX65331101 (2.2)
Logic board part number: EAX65399305 (1.0)

This board is not always easy to repair, but first you need to find where the fault lies, if there's any shorted component on Y-SUS, Z-SUS, you know it.

Test if the buffers are ok, example video:

Thanks for the video, I tested one of the two buffer boards and didn't find any continuity.

In the middle of doing this, I connected the YSUS board without the buffer boards attached and found the clicking still persisted. That leads me to think it's not the buffer boards but the YSUS board itself.

Any tips on how to find the fault if it's within the YSUS board?

Take the Z and Y boards and measure all the transistors, most important are the bigger SMD ones on the back, and the ones mounted to the heatsinks, any short = bad.

Help Needed: Samsung UE55MU8000 Dead - Possible Main Board Issue
          by Asraf Atb
          Hi everyone,

Im looking for some advice regarding my Samsung UE55MU8000 TV with main board model BN94-11606C. The TV suddenly stopped turning on and now shows no signs of life at all not even the standby light at the bottom.

Initially, I suspected an issue with the PSU, so I took it to a repair center. They tested it and confirmed that the PSU works perfectly, even on other TVs. Based on that, I started investigating the main board.

I disconnected the main board from the PSU, and the backlight turned on, which seems to confirm the main board is the issue....

Originally the tv arrived with dimmed backlights (not failed leds) but everything else worked ok. Adjusting backlight in menu did nothing but voltage changed on dimming control pins,
          0% p_dim at 1.65v and a_dim at 1v
          50% p_dim at 3.3v and a_dim at 1.65v
          100% p_dim at 3.3v and a_dim at 2.88v

Changed backlight leds anyway as always like to have complete peace of mind they wont fail shortly after selling the tv. No change as expected!

Leds are 2 rows of 15 6v leds.

On inspection of the power board found diode MBR3200 shorted so replaced with...

          Hi,

          First post...

I have this TV, which was working, then suddenly would not turn on. It would get the clicking relay then flash up the screen for less than a second, off for a second then on again. Removing the plug the relay continues to click on and off for a few cycles, which I don't think it did before.

Left it a few months, then finally got round to taking the back off, and it worked as it should. So I tested various bits and all was well. Then turned it on again, and back to the clicking relay.

I disconnected the main board from the power...

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

          Assuming...

All left and right refers to looking from rear of TV (or looking from front with TV upside down)
          • TV came with vertical bars and no image. Found faulty TVS on left buffer board. Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.
          • Disconnecting left and right buffer board potentially reveals problems on both sides with different signals (unless this T-Con require jumper like Samsung FB_TRDY1&3) Fault
