I have a DJ mixer main who's main psu died. I order a new one but its not the exact same. The old power supply has 2 leads going to the power plug which is mounted to the chassis and a connection for the on/off switch. The new power supply had the actual 3 prong socket for the the plug and doesn't have the connection for the on/off switch. I desoldered the 2 leads from the old psu and soldered it to the new psu. The mixer now powers up but has no on/off switch connection. My question is can I just attach the 2 lead on/off switch to the live lead on the psu? If so, will there be any noise introduced?

Re: Power Supply Replacement Issue
Can we see the pictures? You just feed one terminal of the power switch with the wire for the LINE (HOT), the other terminal of the power switch will be connected to the LINE (HOT) in of the power supply. It will not cause any noise problem if the switch's contacts are good and not arcing.Never stop learning

Re: Power Supply Replacement Issue
I have the power supply in the garage I'll post pictures tomorrow. I will disconnect the hot lead from the 3 prong plug and cut it in half and connect one end of switch to psu and the other end to 3 prong plug?Comment

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by grimacelordHello,
I've been working on a NEC TurboExpress and I accidentally got the plastic inside the power ON/OFF switch too hot while doing other repairs and melted it. At first, it would still power on when sliding the switch, but you had to really press inward while sliding to get it to work.
I removed the switch component and tried to gently melt the plastic back so it would work more reliably and all I managed to do was make it worse.
I need to find a replacement On/OFF switch for this, but having some trouble figuring out which kind of switch I need.... -
by r2digitalI have a klipsch kda-500 that would turn on and allow me to get into the web management but it was picking up a lot of noise from audio sources so i decided to replace the smd caps on the power supply along with radial one. Some one was in here before me and they basically burned the bottom side of the traces off for the radial cap but i was able to repair it without any real problem. I thought i did a good job sourcing out replacement caps but apparently not and now i can't get the power supply to turn on it just constantly try's to keep turning on. Attached is a picture of the power supply before...2 Photos

by sam_sam_samI have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump
One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy... - Loading...
