Re: Sony HCD-FC9 stuck in standby

Have you tried resoldering the power button? I had a sony amp that would take ages ages to switch on, had to keep pressing the button to turn it on, turned out to be a dry joint on the power button, quick dab with the soldering iron and it was perfect again.

And do you have all the original speakers with it? If so i have the exact same set on my amp, got them cheap with the dvd player, was just missing all the wires, sold the dvd player for more than i bought it all for and kept the speakers.

They sound great and that sub is amazing.
Do NOT touch heatsinks when testing for voltages as they may be LIVE!

Sony KDL-40EX403 Stuck on Standby Fixed

This TV was stuck on standby, all the voltages tested ok. I Googled the problem
and found that the ambient sensor could be causing the problem. I disconnected the two leads going to the ambient sensor (on the infra red remote sensor board) and the TV worked with no problems.

Sony KDL40R470A Stuck on standby , red light

So this is the second tv this week that comes in with the same problem. The power supply looks good , There is a solid 3.3v stand by voltage. The tv doesnt react to button presses or from the remote. The Processor gets slightly warm and thats about it.
My question to other veterans on this forum is , what is more likely to be bad , the processor , or the memory chip. in this case there is a toshiba tsop48 fk4924 , tc58dvm92astaj0 . At the moment i do not have my hands on the programer but i will be buying it in the following weeks. i Can see that on 90% of tv boards there is a jack for...

Sony HCD BX7700dbi CMT flashing standby
        by rabbituk
I have got a Sony HCD-BX7700dbi that isn't worth a lot but I'm keen to learn how to repair and would appreciate some help with my train of thought. The protection circuit is kicking in and the standby light is blinking. It goes into protection mode within a second of powering it on.

So far the relay on the power board that enables the main transformer clicks on and then off when powering on the unit. Looking at the schematics, the permanently enabled power rail called 'unreg sub' provides about 13.5VDC. Where the power comes into the main board on connector CN303, there is a diode...
