Re: Dim Clock LCD on Jenn-Air wall oven
All I can say is Thanks bluto and the members on this forum! I became a member just because of this topic. My Jenn-Aire oven's display over the last few weeks began dimming. I found this thread through a Google search. Read through it with great interest. This was my exact issue! I ordered the recommended parts from Digi-Key. After taking the oven face off. I replaced all the caps on the board. I have never replaced caps, ever. I was pretty confident after reading this post and watching several youtube videos about the subject. After putting my oven back together and turning the power back on to it. The display worked like brand new. The cost was under $10 and the time was one morning. Thank you for everything here!

Re: Dim Clock LCD on Jenn-Air wall oven
I ordered the parts for all the boards and now have the stove display is back. Two bad caps on the one board and resistors were used on two of the c3 slots for the other boards. I was surprised to see this but at least I will have a spare when the present board fails again.Leave a comment:

Re: Dim Clock LCD on Jenn-Air wall oven
My board just went out for the fourth time and the last board I put in has the resistor in series with the C3. I have three replaced bad boards plus a bad board in the stove and I ordered parts to cover all four boards. No one has mentioned a desolder pump so I guess I won't need one. I am repairing a 71003424 board.Leave a comment:

Also I when I had the panel off I touched the top end of two of the caps and they shocked me. That is not normal is it?Leave a comment:

All that did was lock and unlock the door. When the "feature not available" message shows up there are two timers and timer #2 shows "1c2c" when the above message shows up.Leave a comment:

Now when I push Bake I am getting a message that says "Feature Not Available" I looked that up and it says that there is a fault that is keeping the cantroller from working. Any suggestions?Leave a comment:

Re: Dim Clock LCD on Jenn-Air wall oven
I have a Jenn Air model# JJW9530DDS. Should I assume the same problems with other wall ovens you've discussed would be the same for mine? Would I have to replace all the caps on the board or just certain ones? I would have to get the numbers off each cap and order those, correct?Leave a comment:

Re: Dim Clock LCD on Jenn-Air wall oven
I am not a religious man. I was born in the late 60's so I remember life without the internet, that is, pre-information age. I also live in Canada so we get gouged on consumer products. Like the $600 estimate to replace the bloody "dim to done" display on the Jenn-Air gas grill.
Nonetheless, bless you all for this site and the great information: The original post, later instructions and comments were perfect. I picked up the 4 capacitors (minimum quantity 5 or each type, but at less than a buck each, who cares!) a pencil tip soldering tool and a some electric solder and for under $35 bucks it works like a charm!
I found the toothpick trip elsewhere to ensure the board holes were open and the whole operation took less than 30 minutes.
Again, thank you all for participating in the information age. It is really remarkable how much value your selfless activities contribute.
For the record, this was a Jenn-air (Maytag) model SCD48600BC (b=black, c=Canada) from about 1999 which is a natural gas range.
Now I just have to figure out why the fan comes on prematurely...off to hunt in the information jungle!Leave a comment:

Re: Dim Clock LCD on Jenn-Air wall oven
Although I found Bluto's OP and other posts some years ago, I never got around to it until this summer. Caps cost me more at my local electronics store but I didn't have to pay shipping so worked out to be the same. A great and helpful thread! I forgot to say thanks here although I got sidetracked on a related thread since I had developed secondary problem with the oven light coming on and the fan running continuously.
Thank you and to the other OP and posters at: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...560#post485560Leave a comment:

Re: Dim Clock LCD on Jenn-Air wall oven
Why do you say this: "that was discovered by both goontron (me) and bluto. we had to have sent dozens of emails between us before we found the fix. i wasn't registered at the time so bluto posted all about it" in that thread?
That is one huge lie. I have never had an email conversation with you. I fixed this problem in 2007 and posted it on BCN in September 2009. You did not post in this thread until December 2013.Last edited by goontron; 10-23-2014, 11:08 PM.Leave a comment:

by asuwish824I recently purchased a Jenn Air Wall Oven model number jjs2730ws00. It functions properly except that the lcd display is rather dim. No adjustment in the settings seems to improve or even change the dimming/brightness of the display. My hope is I can repair the current display instead of purchasing a new or used unit to replace. I prefer to fix at the lowest point for the joy of the repair. Also throwing out what would otherwise be a perfectly good part just because perhaps a capacitor or other small part is bad seems obviously wasteful. Any guidance would be appreciated.

by Fsufan1391Hello everyone my oven is less than 2 years old and all of a sudden recently when i run the oven for 15 minutes or so and i am done with it and shut it off. after about 10 minutes it starts chiming and randomly putting it in different modes like the touch screen is being touched but no one is around it. I have tried to reset it by unplugging it multiple times and no luck. I took it apart to see the main board and everything looks fine. I am wondering if i should replace the main board or if its in the control panel. the touch screen is very responsive and works like it should. its only acting...

by Joe24Patient is a Maytag/Whirlpool/Kenmore clothes dryer. Not sure of exact model, doesn't matter. All boards are out of production.
Specific problem is a Maytag 8544799 / WP8544799 motor-control board, aka Diehl Controls 708879-05. Customer states the board "doesn't work, motor doesn't run". Not sure how the repairman made that assessment, or if it's even accurate. He can't get replacement boards, and the owner decided to buy a new dryer, so whether this board is the problem is speculation on his part. Again, doesn't matter.

by bpjlHello,
When starting the SEF 551.10 reflow oven, the following problem occurs:
It seems to me that this is related to corrupted software. Does anyone have files that can fix this device? Or maybe someone uses such an oven and is able to make a sector copy of the memory card located in the computer controlling this oven?
PS.: Of course, appropriate emails for help have been sent to the manufacturer and distributor in my country. No response yet, but I don't expect much. It's a fairly old device and from what I know, it's no longer... -
One day my microwave oven stopped heating.
It would turn on and rotate the plate but no heat.
I removed the cover and checked components with digital multimeter.
Found that the high voltage fuse was blown.
This is not the AC fuse, if the AC fuse was blown then the oven would appear totally dead.
Then I tried to find replacement fuse on local electronic parts stores and this specific value was not available so I got the closest I could find.
I replaced fuse and tried to heat up a glass of water.
