    Re: Decorative Solar Lamp Question

It's meant to sit flush but first things first, need to see if running jumpers make the panels work again.

Best things to use is component leads work real good this type of repair

Unless you have battery tabbing wire on hand would be best thing to use

        Re: Decorative Solar Lamp Question

Ok repaired two broken traces and I quickly measured over 5v under my led lit magnification lamp. Will try today under proper sunshine to see what the panel puts out.

I used some really small gauge insulated wire to bridge the traces. I think I will redo that work after a little fact finding with the panel itself now that it's working.

After you finally fix the breaks seal the repairs with marine epoxy I would also apply some over just the tabbing material only you do not need to make very thick but you need thick enough to seal it so moisture does not continue eat away at it

            Re: Decorative Solar Lamp Question

I brought it out into the sun today and registered 6.9v unloaded.

Next step (after making the repairs permanent) is to decide which electronics to use and what type of battery.

Is a Li-ion cellphone battery a good choice for this application ?

              Re: Decorative Solar Lamp Question

I have a solar panel I wish I could repair, would be nice if it's just the interconnect but the tracks on the wafers themselves look oxidized. Should take another look at it, and without the charge controller... (BTW, problem I'm seeing is that it cuts in and out, sometimes generating power but sometimes not, and sometimes hitting the panel makes it work again...)

Sort of spoiled now with the 100W panels, the bad panel is probably no more than 5W or so if that much -- drop in the bucket compared to trying to get the 100W panels optimized.

I bought one about a month ago from an eBay seller who now is out of stock however I found another eBay seller that has the same version of this device so I think about buying a few more of over a period of time

Awhile back I bought some A123 brand 18650 battery cells that are 3.2 volt battery cells that I am going to use in this device for more running time in a florescent bulb fixture that I gutting out the tube sockets and turn it into a solar powered LED lighting fixture instead

Pictures will come later when I have the lighting fixture gutted and have the battery...

Epson 5040UB Projector No Lamp Strike Stuck in Startup - Blinking Status/Lamp Lights
                by vestaviascott
Hoping someone here can put me on the right track. I'm trying to troubleshoot/flowchart the "internal projector error" on my newly acquired Facebook Marketplace bought Epson 5040UB projector (3LED, not DLP). Owner said it needed new lamp, actually error code blink pattern indicates "Internal Projector Error, call Epson support". Unit is out of warranty as of 8/19

                Here's what happens:

                1) Power on
                2) Blue power indicator lights and the lens cover motor opens the lens cover, light fan noise heard
                3) Blue status light flashes for appx 4 minutes...

BenQ TH681 Originally overheating now wont fire the lamp - Colour wheel not starting
                by AJ847.63e
                Hi All.

Does anyone have any reference materials or something I can use to try troubleshooting a BenQ TH681? Google unfortunately has turned up zip. I did find a service manual for a W series BenQ but that is pretty much useless, it's more a glorified user manual. A list of voltages would be great as I suspect my mainboard is faulty, the colour wheel voltage is not dipping like it should.

The one I am troubleshooting now was originally overheating after a lamp replacement. It originally would take 2 minutes or so for it to shut off and blink the temp and lamp lights...

Help on Samsung Syncmaster T220 dead ccfl lamp
                by mikey5791
                Hi,

This monitor previously is my main working monitor which i have been using for 8~9 years. Yesterday, when i switched on my pc from fresh to power on, the monitor is just black no display. I started dismantle to look inside the monitor power board but nothing looks suspicious or burnt. So i took my external ccfl inverter to try to power the monitor ccfl lamps which consisted of 2 lamps on upper part and 2 lamps on the lower part.

Found out the upper ccfl lamp which is supposed to connect to cn304 on the power board did not light up. Then i installed a used working...

Help please with identification of few components for troubleshooting (Solar Water Fountain circuit)
                by Techie_hobby1
Need some help please with a few components on this small board so that I can troubleshoot the circuit.

The PCB is a Single sided board fairly simple circuitry has a +ve and -ve Solar cell power input, a 7.4v 1500mAh (dual 18630 cell) power in which the Solar panel charges the cells, and lastly the Output goes to a DC connector...
J1 is actually 1P1T Switch (in ON position completes Battery cell circuit
                J2 - to DC Output
                J3 is Battery cell connector

however I am struggling to identify if:
                Y1 (SOT-23) are NPN Transistors, MOSFET's or 11v Zener's....
