mfj-916 bad soldering.

they dont call mfj "mighty fine junk" or "mother f!@#$ing junk" for nothing.
this was used twice on a brand new radio.
it caused a failure in the uhf pa module. my cost for the part is around $80.
customer not happy!

Looks like the inside of a passive coax splitter except the wire on those is hair thin.

just needed resoldered.
too late for the pa module though.
customer learned lesson.

looks more like sloppy design to me. i think proper screw-in jacks would have helped more.
bummer it took the pa with it.

And not acceptable design. Not allowing for connectors to flex without breaking the connections. Or rigid enough. The pin is not through a hole, just very short pin laying just above the PCB in glob of solder. That's bad that how this breaks.

Needs to have a solder tab in SMD style so flat part can lay flat directly on the pad and need less solder this way.
