    SMD parts

Looking for some insight to smd part problems.
1 Does anyone know if specific parts fail from non use on a regular basis (res goes high or low while being unpowered)
2 How is EEPROM data ORIGINALLY installed to device.
3 Does anyone have info on terms used on schematics(ex. zcr210_ad.... used to describe a resistor. What does ZC or AD mean)
4 Does ferrite bead resistance equal dc resistance or impedance at a specific freq.
    Thanks to all for being__WAR_KITTENS____!

    Re: SMD parts

1 No, components don't usually fail without power, maybe an excess of heat but that's poor storage. Parts fail due to an excess of current, voltage or ripple or a combination.
2 With a programmer of some sorts.
3 Got a screen shot as an example ? Perhaps there is a component list to go with the schematic to help identify the parts.
4 Yes the impedance quoted is for a certain frequency.

a ferrite bead should have no resistance - it's a bead on a short wire.

coiled / wire-wound inductors have larger resistances.

Yeah, D'oh ! It's inductance not impedance. Henries, Millihenries and Microhenries.
I've just pulled similar sized ones off dead boards when I've needed some and they've always worked. (No comebacks).

          Re: SMD parts

Then again inductors also have frequency dependent impedances, just like capacitors... Just that larger inductors have higher ESRs unlike capacitors (at least for electrolytics) where it tends to be the other way around...

I do wonder how many of these jury rigged inductors (meaning, adding a ferrite bead) were carefully calculated versus being a wet finger calculation to at least somewhat attenuate the spikes, reducing high frequency noise...

i suspect a lot of circuits with beads - like digital stuff or mosfet gate-pins are a case of something not working and a guy with a scope trying to kill a glitch followed by a design-change.

The ones i replaced recently were on the 19v line just before the LVDS connector. Vaporised when screens were changed and the battery not removed.
I'm not sure how critical the closeness to the original needs to be.
I couldn't find a schematic so it didn't matter anyway.

probably just to stop noise from the led invertor going back into the laptop.

                  3090 FE Part Confirm/Identification
                  by H H
                  Hello,

I'm hoping someone could help me confirm if I have identified the following parts correctly.

Apparently the DP cable became stuck inside the graphics card and was yanked out. This caused some sort of short which burned the DP contacts and blew some resistors and ferrite beads.

The parts needing replacement are on the back of the board behind the HDMI input.

I have identified the parts as the following:

                  C6037: MLCC 0.1uf/16v(0402)x7R W05

                  R6016: RES 499 OHM 1/16W (0402) 1%

                  LB10911: Ferrite Bead (0402)...

GTX 1080 TI Gigabyte Aorus low resistance on vmem
                  by cind12
Hi guys, i was wondering, i've got 9Ohms on Vmem, one of the mosfet was shortet to ground, so i've desoldered hi and low mosfets nad still low res, then i removed all of the memory chips, and the resistance is still low, so did you had maybe a card with that low res on memories, and the card was working fine ?
Removed the U1866Q and still without result, i dont have thermal cam so can't see where is hot spot when incjeting voltage.
The resistance on core is ok 0.1Ohm ((Power 0.8V when on)
Resistance on 12V 4K ohms (Power present when on)
Resistance on 12V PEX 4K ohms...

I want to know the resistance value of the missing parts of the RX6600 GPU.

No need for a circuit diagram, just tell me the resistance value. Thank you....

Lowest possible resistance on laptop motherboard rail - Guide Table request
                  by Nagy Daniel
Hi, I'm Daniel, and I'm new to the world of repairing motherboards.

I would like to create a table, or more likely a guideline about the voltage rails and their possible resistance rail.

I know that the motherboard design has a very big depend on the rail's resistance, but I would like to know what is the smallest value for a rail that can be acceptable. For example, I heard that some new gaming motherboards can have 0,5 Ohm resistance on the GPU rail, but on an older type, it could be a sign of a shorted GPU rail.

So, I generated a table with AI so I can...

Samsung UN65JU67ODFXZA Version TD01 Schematic and Parts List
                  by Mark D
The TV is a Samsung UN65JU67ODFXZA Version TD01. I replaced the power source board and the TV is now working, but I decided to try and troubleshoot the old board to fix at the component level. Trying to get a schematic and a parts list has proven to be an issue. Trying on my own, I can't tell you how many times my Norton security has flagged sites as "malicious". I ordered a service manual from ServiceManuals.net, paid $16.99 and got 66 pages of everything BUT schematics and component parts list! Can anyone steer me in the right direction? Some of the surface mounted component parts...
