If no bad connections why they burned out violently, I always update to higher grade parts available to me. EX: FDP18N50 replace FDP8N50, FDP10N50, FDP12N50, FDP15N50, FDP16N50 etc.

            Why go lower Voltage?
How about the Vgs (th) spec, capacitance, etc?

That happen to be one of my old inventory I had, I doubt about it ,that's why ask "Can I sub STF13NM60N with FDP18N50?" The PFC used 418v and FET Vmax 500v almost is dangerous. Customer picked up TV yesterday, redo will update.

LG 42LD450 service manual did not include the power supply circuits,

Why Q601 and Q602 MOSFET burn out ???

Why should transistors age at all? The kinds of transistors we’re talking about here—the good old metal-oxide semiconductor field-effect transistors that are the basis of ordinary CMOS chips—function as electrical switches. A MOSFET has four terminals, called the body, the gate, the source, and the drain, although the source and body are often connected. The voltage that’s applied to the gate determines whether current can flow between the source and drain. Although a thin layer of dielectric material electrically insulates the gate, the electric field applied across it alters the conductivity of the underlying semiconductor channel connecting the source and drain.

Lg 42LD450 after inserting the software, get stuck in the boot loop
                by peraja12
For the TV from the title (Lg 42LD450-ZA) which was damaged by the motherboard during the thunderstorm, I got the board from China. The board is the same model but for the Chinese area, the Chinese TV model is 42LD450-CA.
The old board and the Chinese are identical, only this Chinese has a different tuner.
Everything worked great, except of course DVB-t because the tuner is different (probably they have a different standard)
The devil did not give me peace so I went to insert the software from the European version (Lg42LD450-ZA), everything went fine, the tv recognized the...

LG 42LD450-UA Powerboard replaced and still no power
                by Betviper
I narrowed the issue down (so I thought) to the powerboard. I purchased one online and installed it but still no voltage coming out the pins. I have checked the LEDs with an LED tester I purchased and they test good. I put the TV aside for quite a while but with this Corona crap I have some free time. I am by no means an electronics repair person but I do enjoy fixing anything and everything. I am wondering if the board I bought online is defective. I found this capacitor (guessing that's what it is) and it has 79v on one side and 0 on the other. Everything I have tested on the primary side of...

                SVOD4 PCB pictures + parts
                by 2elw
Hey, I find it very absurd that the SVOD4 costs so much and has zero documentation. I had no other choice than to buy it to unlock ECs, if there was any documentation or firmware avalible I could've made it or something simmilar. Anyways here are some of the most important parts:

STM32H723VGT6 MCU - It's a microcontroller by STMicroelectronics and its the whole brain of the SVOD4. It has flash memory for the firmware which can be updated by the SVOD4 program. Its also powered by the AMS117 which converts 5v into 3.3V. 7€ on AliExpress.

                GW1N-UV9UG169C6/I5 FPGA - Its a...

LG 42LD450 struck by lightning, replaced main board, now every other column is red.
                by events.b
I got a LG 42LD450-UA with the worst case of lightning damage I've ever seen. The main board was absolutely toast. The lightning came in through the composite inputs and took out those circuits, the main board was a total loss. I replaced the main board with a compatible one, but now every other column is red. It seems too consistent to me to be a panel fault, at first I thought it was incorrect firmware, but after checking the INSTART settings and force flashing the latest correct firmware using the wonderful resources at http://openlgtv.org.ru/, the problem still persists. At this point I am...
