    Rusted fans

So, I'm recovering these PCs and two of them had rust in one of the fans. First, one wasn't so bad, but the second, well I'll let you see for yourself (pictures in the attachments). Has anyone encountered something like this? I have to say that this is a first one for me. I did fix the fan, but unfortunately I forgot to take pictures... I might open it up tomorrow, if I'm not too lazy.
P.S. The fan is from a delta PSU, though I can't remember the model. Oh, and yes, it did have bad caps.

Extreme humidity does that. I have seen it once or twice.

I do live in a city near the coast, but the air isn't very moist. However, I don't know where the computer was used. All I know is that it belonged to some company or institution. At first I though that maybe it was on an oil rig or a ship, but surprisingly enough the hard drives weren't taken out.
Anyway, here are the pictures I promised, sorry for the delay.
The first two pictures were while the fan was dry. The brown color in second two pictures is because of the oil (and probably the light too).

Spectre X360 DAX38CMBAG0 - overheating fans not spinning
                  by magneh
                  Hello all

Got this Spectre with an overheating problem.
I verified that the fans start briefly during power up, but never turn on again,
even when stress testing the machine and CPU at 100°C fans dont spin

                  Ive measured and I have 5V, 3.3v and 3rd pin 0.
When fans spin during start up, the signal at 0v is at 1.6v.

Probably its Fan2Sig pin and 3.3V is PWM, not sure

Question is , how to fix?
I think these signals come from ITE controller am I right?
                  Should I bother replacing it?

                  Thanks...

some one has changed keyboard after liquid spill

problem is that touch bar is totally dead, fans at full speed as soon as i power on the notebook and macbook ultra slow and tons of errors on apple diagnostic

then i've found that resistor r5860 was miss

now macbook works very fast but still no touch bar and fans at fool speed. i've tried another touchbar with no luck

istat and tgpro say there is no problem, all sensors ok

Taking Pictures Of Large Circuit Boards
                  by VitalComputing
                  Hi friends,

I am trying to take good quality pictures of rather large desktop motherboards for a project I'm working on. I had a brilliant idea of scanning them with a flatbed scanner I have but it only focuses on the bits of the board that are flush to the scanning glass. And the through hole components tend to lift the main board from the scanning glass. Everything else just looks out of focus. So it seems that that option wont run.

I have been capturing the images with my iPhone 11 and it's okay but wont capture the whole board. I have to grab it in sections and...

Acer Aspire T310, fans just died
                  by Heihachi_73
I think my trusty old Acer desktop is finally on its last legs after nearly 15 years of 24/7 use.

Around an hour ago the fans cut out (I never noticed as I was out of the room at the time, and my noisy old electric fan heater was on as it was 10°C inside the house) and not long after I got back the PC automatically powered off when I was looking at eBay with nothing else running. Funny how things always seem to fail in the middle of winter for me! The last time this PC went kaboom it was in the middle of winter back in July 2012, which was actually my first post on here (sorry,...

Which software do you guys have the best of luck with for recovering corrupt photos?
                  by AJ847.63e
                  Hi All,

My WD external drive I used to use for my backups recently decided to go belly up on me so I've been playing around with different bits of software to try see if I can recover it and just wanted to get some advise on which programs you guys have the most success with.

Yes I've cloned the drive and no I'm not paying a grand to take it to a professional. If I can get some stuff back great, which I have, but there's still quite a lot I haven't. It's not worth taking to a professional though it's only my programming courses and vacation stuff so it's a nice to...
