Do you have any proofs that this is not another story of fake labeling ?
The best proof is to actually visit the factory and take pictures from it -

Re: new American made incandescent bulbs
Do you see how some of the bulbs flare out just above the base. That is more common on foreign made bulbs. Most of these bulbs are Rough Service bulbs, which are considered specialty bulbs, their color is not the same as soft white bulbs in household use. Most of the bases are brass, which is also more characteristic of imported bulbs.Comment

Re: new American made incandescent bulbs
All the "import" bulbs I find have one support for a V-shaped filament, which is crappy. The website's pics are all the same but show the old three supports on a C-shaped filament. But I agree the lamps look like imports. Perhaps they are "assembled in USA" meaning they get put in the box there, and I don't see the flag anywhere on the site...Comment

getter on the lea... oh!
hadn't noticed, shame on me for noticing something used in my favorite equipment- valve audio systems
as for the efficiency, who cares? if you want efficiency get LED's.Things I've fixed: anything from semis to crappy Chinese $2 radios, and now an IoT Dildo....

Re: new American made incandescent bulbs
Hey that lamp looks like good mfg... if you're into light bulbs
Here is a pic of a made in China lamp; Globe 10,000hr 100W 130V, with the cheap V-shaped filament. Only about 50W of light, fairly dim like a traffic light. I can't find any 3-point fil. support lamps anywhere in my city.
I find incandescents have good lifetime, work at cold/hot temperatures and best for the environment when it comes to disposal but worse for CO2 and heat. In winter time they contribute to heating my house
I find CFL's have lousy lifetime, and are dim at cold temperatures below 0C and worse for the environment when it comes to disposal.
I find LED's are expensive, with questionable lifetime for the hot running electronics. In a few years they will be king.Comment

$3 for a 4-pack of incandescents
$1 for a 4-pack of CFLs

Re: new American made incandescent bulbs
^ can you use CFL's in temps lower than 0F with good instant light output? NO, can you use the as a ballast? NO, can you use them to heat a reptile tank? NO can you dim them? only the special one and then you have to replace the dimmer!
BTW $5 for a pack of CFL's here.Last edited by goontron; 09-05-2013, 08:29 PM.Things I've fixed: anything from semis to crappy Chinese $2 radios, and now an IoT Dildo....

Re: new American made incandescent bulbs
Two chinese 75w light bulbs .. about 30 cents each
One Philips 75w lightbulb made in Poland (about 1$ each)
Notice the higher quality and the extra wires holding the longer filament. Better quality metal on the bottom etc.
CFL lights are about 3-5$ for the better quality ones, maybe 10$ for brand name like Philips... there are Chinese ones which are as cheap as 1$ but I wouldn't waste my money on them.Last edited by mariushm; 09-06-2013, 02:05 AM.Comment

Re: new American made incandescent bulbs
To me, incandescent bulbs still are better in the long run.
CFLs produce dirty electricty, therefore they interfere with radios and IR remote controls occasionally. They give off UV light - some people have gotten sunburn from the CFL in their desklamp - the CFL stays too close to the person. Also, CFLs can't be used upside down, or in humid, cold, or hot environments. The CFL electronics contain a variety of chemicals and elements which make recycling harder. CFLs also tend to melt or catch fire at EOL, all by themselves!
Incandescent bulbs don't really produce high frequency noise, so they don't cause interference. They are also easy to recycle - only some metals, glass and cement! They don't catch fire at EOL either.
I still think that with all the environmental costs of getting all the chemicals and elements to make a cfl, both cfls and incandescent bulbs have about the same environmental impact! (Cfl might have more)

Re: new American made incandescent bulbs
Keep in mind the 130V lamps AKA "long life" really do produce less light than the 120V version -
something like 120V 60W is equivalent in brightness to 14W CFL, but is equivalent in heat generation as the 130V 60W.
I only prefer CFL due to reduced heat generation in my house. I have enough computers and other devices to generate thermal energyComment

Re: new American made incandescent bulbs
-Just use a big resistor or something.
-They make these devices called "heaters". You should try one sometime.
-Just get a bulb with the correct power to begin with.Comment

Re: new American made incandescent bulbs
I'm tempted to go buy one of those halogen incandescent bulbs, anyone tried them? What do you think of them? Good enough compared to a regular incandescent?
They don't quite give off as much heat though, so if you wanted a 100W heater, it's a bit lacking...Comment

Re: new American made incandescent bulbs
I have two 500w lamps above my workbench... link below just for the picture, mine look like that but I didn't pay that much for them:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Palmer-Riley...d_sim_sbs_lp_6
They are great in the afternoons or at night, really light up the desk... but they are HOT and heat up the place. They're hanging about 2 meters (~ 6 feet) above the desk surface and in about 10-15 minutes I'm almost sweating from the heat they make.Comment

Re: new American made incandescent bulbs
It is easy for me as electrician to verify if my 42W bulb which performs as 60W it does use 42W of energy.
But no one can verify the performance in brightness and heat production with out specialized tools of some value which will deliver the needed accuracy.
I did replace the bulb in my WC with a PRC made 42W, 230V, 624 Lumen, Energy class C.
On the box it is printed .. A55 bulb, 30% savings, Dimmable.
Brand ADELEQ-LUMEN, and English and Greek letters on the box, but with out any printed contact information of any one ( importer , distributor, factory).
Retail price 2$ (1,5 EUR).
Honestly I do not believe that is equally bright with a true 60W, but the best way to test that is in open outdoor space.Comment

by sam_sam_samAbout a month ago we had a transformer jumper wire that burned in two different places between two transformers caused over $200 thousand dollars worth of damage to VFD drives at least 10 of them and a memory card and quite a few power supply as well
Now we have most of the equipment that got damaged back up and running except a feeder that has issues and we are waiting for some parts for
Now we also have another piece of equipment that was blowing fuses on the 110 volt controller switch circuit with the “E” stops and one switching power (24 volt) supply and a transformer... -

by handsworthJust wanted to share some information that I ran across when attempting to do the tape method on a tv with a shorted panel. I normally use magnifying glasses however while watching a you tube video, the person was using their phone. It seems that the Iphone has a magnifier app and wow, it works great. I have Iphone 11 and the app is built in. Pictures attached are screen shots. Made taping the pins a breeze. Also useful when reading the tiny print on the boards. Hope this helps somebody. ...

by rumi409 Hi,
I'm trying to resurrect a LG OLED C1 TV that has some panel banding. I used the TCON error bypass to get a picture. I was able to update the firmware as well. But when I performed a pixel cleaning to try to get the banding out, it made the image significantly worse. I tried to undo the effects of the pixel cleaning by performing a factory reset and IN_Stop, but that didn't work. Any way to reset pixel cleaning data?...1 Photo - Loading...
