Nice! I'm still using mine as well. All thanks to you, though . Your thread has been a great inspiration and always will be .

    2W? Per channel? HOLY SHIT!
2W/ch is quite enough to make even regular bookshelf speakers go plenty loud. I just can't image this with head phones. I bet it will make your ear bleed. Unless you're directing it all in the very low sub-bass range, where the human hearing drops off.

The only thing i'll have to change is that cheap pot i used for volume - it's started to crackle when i turn it.

If you look at the graph in the datasheet, that's about what it resolves to with +/-12v supplies and 16 ohm load... and yeah, it's stupid loud. Fortunately, i listened to hip-hop. My hearing's still fine, and my 'phones didn't quit either (using the same ones right now), but they did make my ears feel nice and warm... Not something i'd want to do again very soon though.

RCA WHP141 wireless headphones wired up
        by momaka
OK, this one dates back to 2015! I thought I had posted this, but realized I didn’t when I posted a picture of something else. So here it goes…

Back in 2015, I bought a pair of RCA WHP141 wireless headphones at Micro Center for $2. I even mentioned it in the best cheap/free scores thread right here. Just forgot to follow up with that.

As mentioned back then, these are (were) 900 MHz FM wireless headphones. No modern day Blutooth or anything like that. I knew they wouldn’t be great headphones or even that good… but the price was right! So let’s take...

        Windows 10 & Wireless Headphones
        by Logistics
So I found my wife a pair of Sony MDR-100ABN's, and we were goofing with them yesterday. She has a new HP Sceptre with Windows 10. I don't know 10 at all so my blood pressure goes up trying to navigate the unruly interface.

I played with lots of settings yesterday, when I was trying to make the headphones connect to the laptop over bluetooth including, the MIC settings since we were playing with the Noice-Cancelling setting on the headphones. I ended up putting the MIC setting back to the Intel default on the laptop, but the output for the headphones.

        Move forward to...

Vintage AT Power Supplies - Selecting Capacitors
        by iMic
        Hi,

Back after a long hiatus with some old power supplies that need repairing. I've recently picked up a couple of 386SX systems, two 486DX systems, a SiliconGraphics Indy and an iMac G3 that either have verified leaking capacitors in their power supplies, or are likely to in the near future. For the sake of simplicity, instead of tackling all at once, I'm starting with the 386's and one of the 486's.

The 386's power supplies are Seasonic SS4040A's, with caps that are visibly leaking, and 9 replacement caps per unit are required. Most appear to be from the Rubycon...

Sony WH 1000XM4 Headphones always on because of corosion?
        by dbuergi
        Hi all,

i got these headphones which were not charging or powering on. I found some corosion around the charging port and power board. After cleaning the headphones took a charge but directly powered on.
The power button ist without any reaction. I suggest that there ist still some gunk under the button and i get an always power on. Do you have any suggestions what to do? Is it possible to desolder the button for a cleaning?
I could replace the board for 25 euros but maybe there is another way?
