Tools for taking stuff apart - what's your favorite?

For taking apart AC adapters, LCD monitors, laptops, cell phones - anything that is (ultrasonic) plastic welded or has latches with fine seams, I find steel guitar picks are a fantastic tool!
Using slotted-screwdrivers and knives, I always gouge things or there's blood...
0.3mm thickness picks are pretty tough, they don't bend or cut my fingers.

You can get them on eBay or from Deal Extreme, music stores seem more expensive.

HP ENVY 360 - no power, taking no current

This device came in as no power. It is taking 0a current. I noticed a little liquid damage to the LCD connector and cleaned that off. I have 19v at the input mosfets, and on the opposite side of the board, there are several (diodes?) which all have 19v. There is a cap there which has 19v on one side, but 6.5v on the other - how?

The only other live power rail I have found on the board, is 16V on one of the coils. There doesn't seem to be a 5V or 3.3V present. A couple...

Topcat's Ultimate Pentium 4 Retro Gamer!
        by Topcat
I'll open this build with the comment that the Pentium 4 processor was probably my least-favorite CPU; even in Xeons. Netburst processors were hot-running and quite unimpressive performers considering the high clock speeds....but they were capable to a certain extent.....and are now entering the peculiar era of 'retro-ness'.

With that said; I was given THIS LITTLE JEWEL last Friday....a gaming rig built on the very CPU I liked the least....but there were some interesting things in it to say the least....and I really don't have a really good P4 retro gamer in my fleet....so....hmmm...yea...lets...

        Motherboard diagnostic beginner advice
        by Mess
To save you some time: the most important bits are in bold.
Some further examples/explanations or to the side & in grey - you can probs skip them if it's TLDR for you. Sorry, I've got ADHD & tend to over-explain stuff - just like I'm doing right now 😅 Briefness is for poets not me 🙈

Please help!! 🎶I'm just a girl in a world that wants to scam me out of lots of money for any tech stuff/repairs 🎵 Seriously tho, I'm poor&I can't afford to get laptop diagnosis, especially if it ends up needing a new motherboard. Where I live, all the tech shops are run by very...

Xbox one 1540 not taking disc
        by gurj1979
My Xbox one has stopped taking discs. Sometimes it will trip the power supply and no orange light neither.
If I'm lucky it will randomly take it after about 10 power reboots.

I got a new drive, swapped over the board but same thing.
So I swapped over the motor driver IC, but still same problem.

Is this turning into a motherboard problem rather than the drive or PCB itself ?

        Help please.
