I have an update! I tried disconnecting the hard drive and booting the iMac without a disk, and the USB ports started working correctly again! The issue was with this SSD—I have no idea how that's possible, but I got another one, installed macOS, and now everything is working perfectly. Really strange! -
Nothing that I’m aware of, and upon visually inspecting the inside, I didn’t notice anything unusual. The ports were definitely working before, as I used a USB drive to load the macOS installer.Leave a comment:

iMac 820-2507 A1312 27" 3.06Ghz C2D all USB delivering power but no communication
I purchased an iMac 820-2507 A1312 27" 3.06GHz C2D with a hard drive issue. The operating system wouldn't load, but everything else seemed to be working fine. I tried leaving it powered on to reinstall the OS from a USB drive, but the hard drive completely failed. I suspect it short-circuited because it started getting very hot.
I then opened the iMac and installed an SSD (without an adapter for the thermal sensor, which I left disconnected). After closing it up and turning it on, the computer loaded the operating system without issues. However, when I reached the login screen... -
the perfect pizza secret is the oven with stone base and good waterfoe the doug! But above All, italian love of course.

It was [FONT=CourierNewPSMT]C81DC , the same that was getting hot in my first post. Replaced and now the Mac is working pretty good

That would be the first time using a power supply to sort out a short, can't wait to start!
I need to solder the negative pole to the ground on the logic board, while the positive pole goes to the component related to the track I want to investigate, right? Do you have any advice on which component to choose? I'll make sure not to exceed 0v8 by checking with a multimeter. How many Amperes should I use? Hello, a friend give me this M1 Mac Air, he said that it simply stop working. Apple preventive is replacing motherboard.
Model is MacBook Air M1 A2337, logic 820-02016, not booting, and taking 5V 0.42A and consuming 2.173W.
Once disassembled is very clean, no water damage at all. Visual ispection reveal no visible problem. Flir camera point to two hot point:
