KDL-32S2010 flashes LED 9 times

Hi,

I've been trying to diagnose a Sony KDL-32S2010. I downloaded the service and training manuals from Elektrotanya, however they appear to be for a different model "WAX2 Chassis" maybe there was a different one in the UK?

From what I've found out it appears board 1-869-656-12 is faulty. It has the PCMCIA slot on it. I disconnected it and the TV seems to run better, but I can't tune any channels and if I try to it switches off. So as this has cables that connect to the tuner board and main board I'mn guessing it's needed.
I've checked the caps and diodes on the board.

There was a Sony technical bulletin that mentions the problem and a firmware update attached to bulletin 06TV112R*. I can't seem to find this firmware anywhere on the internet.

If anyone has a copy or suggestions I'd be grateful.

Just to add,
The reason I can't tune any channels and it switches off is because this card has the freeview(digital) tuner on it.

Hi there

I came across your post while searching for what could be wrong with my older KDL32S2010 tv.

The TV would not switch on at all and you could hear it clicking on and off. Finally the red light would flash 9 times. Since reading your post I have opened up the TV and disconnected the Board number that you mentioned. The TV now goes on but after about 40 secs it turns off and the goes back on again. It seems to have made some difference though as it did not go on at all before.

Did you encounter this issue? I am thinking of purchasing a spare board on eBay and replacing the old one. I'm jut wondering if you have any more advice on how you managed to solve the issue and how you managed to detect the issue.

Hi, i am desperately looking for a KDL32s2530 firmware for the same problem above (flashing 9 times). i already have a 2Gb memory stick formatted and utilizied in win8. I would be glad if anybody showed me a functional link. thanks and greetings

So the 26S2000 firmware works for the 32S2010 US TV? or UK TV only?

hi i have a kdl-32s2010 the tv starts and then shuts down the relais is clicking and after 4-5 times the red led blinks 9 times has anyone the problem repaired ?

Hi, I have the KDL-46W2000 and have the 9 blink led issue.
It does come on, but then shuts down after about 90s.
From what I've read it's the FEE card.
EMOS as offered to flash the card, but I know I have an old Sony card in a box - but I need the firmware.
Can anyone help with the firmware please???

I manged to find a Bulletin that mentions my model, it uses a WAX2-F chassis - but I can't find the related bulletin that says whether I have an old or new panel type. Not that I have the firmware package anyway...just adding this for my own benefit as much as anyone else!



My serial no is 4306807, thus is in List A..
