Re: winbond W74M12JWSSIQ
Have you tried the CH341A? It´s pretty common and I think it works for every chip out there. I haven´t found yours specifically, but I guess that it´s a standard SOP 8, so you shouldn´t have any problem.
What device is it from? -

by rumpumpel1Off topic, but I think I have the best chance to get an answer here: Which programmer can read a Winbond W25R256JW (not W25R256JV) ?

by STKR123Greetings badcaps community,
I havent done this for a long time and want to start it all again, after some evil and annyoing illness.
So I apologize in advance, if some phrases might sound a bit like gibberish or illogical to you.
Im trying my best to fully describe what I plan to achieve and hope I was choosing the right sub-forum for my new adventure.
I have a Elitebook 820 G1 and a Elitebook 840 G2 here.
These ask for a password when entering the BIOS, but boot just fine from the internal SSD.
I learned that desoldering...10-29-2024, 06:03 AM -
by modtoolHi to all, I'm facing a problem writing to an MX25L25673G SOIC-16 bios chip (part of an HP EliteOne 1000 G2 27") with a Willem programmer 5.0B (with software PCB98D12c4).
I know my programmer is old and I've planned to buy a new one but it worked until now with every eeprom I've faced in different devices, this is the first time that is giving me this kind of problem and I need to urgently solve it because I've already changed the fried southbridge and cleaned its ME fw, so I need to finish the last step of the repair.
This Willem supports some 256Mbit eeprom, I can choose between... -
by CapThatBrassHi,
I've managed to take an image dump in BIN format of my Dell Latitude 5420, which had a Winbond 25R256JV chip installed.
I used an RT809F programmer to obtain the BIN, using the supplied iFix RT809F programmer application (latest version being 20220830).
The programmer automatically found the settings to read the chip but selected the Winbond W25Q256FV instead (my actual model isn't available on the listing within the software). The image came out fine - I did this multiple times to clarify the data being read was the same each time.

My pc updated bios through Windows Update and I was greeted with BLACK SCREEN WITH CPU FAN MAX SPEED. I don't think there is even a screen signal, because it triggers my monitor for a couple seconds and then the monitor turns off. I tried the other outputs as well.
- I tried clearing bios, resetting bios, removed the CMOS battery, removed m.2 ssd, wifi, and ram. Still black screen with CPU fan blasting.
- I tried using the Lenovo BIOS CD and BIOS USB, but neither worked. At least I couldn't get anything to work.
- I could only locate two chips that look like bios chips. Could someone verify this
