IR to USB transceiver for HDMI video adapter

Ok, so for a customer of mine, he got a wonderfully built NVR from SCW. I also had to get him this

    https://www.amazon.com/HDMI-Extender.../dp/B08778V33N

I used the remote on the NVR totally and it's horrible. Totally non-intuitive. I would rather have him use a pointer mouse.

but that has kind of sailed the ship

Is there any ways I can just funnel a USB signal through IR pass on the receiver, and hook the other side (transceiver and hook it to the other transmitter) and convert that to a USB signal for the USB port on the front of the NVR's USB cable instead of a 3.5mm port?

I'm thinking of something like this:
    https://www.amazon.com/TNP-Repeater-...dp/B01MU5RQ1A/

They do make a version of that HDMI transceiver but I though the remote would make more sense, but hindsight, etc, etc

i dont understand a single word you just said!

if your asking how to boost the range of a mouse, why not get a wireless mouse with a dongle from china and then improve the antenna's?

WTF ... Balun? How could it be a balun? More like a repeater, HDMI is balanced, Ethernet is balanced. Grr...terminology abuse...

Highly doubt you can use the IR pass through for general USB, likely bandwidth is too low without a bandwidth reduction converter, likewise using the RS232 has the same issue.

Ok I take that back. RS232 is unbalanced. So yes it's a balun.

hdmi is not balanced, it uses an inverse pair - not exactly the same#

if they're signaled inversely on a pair, that's sufficient for balanced!

ok this is what I get for posting something at 4am where i'm effectively drunk from sleep and sleep medication

I need to maybe pass USB data through that IR port in the HDBaseT device. I think though the IR is not polled like USB, or polled at a very different rate. Or they don't poll it all and it's polled on the other side by the USB receiver on the other side? Oh wait damn that is waaay too far for USB signaling, even at 1.1.

*sigh* maybe I should have gotten the one with USB support. I thought the remote for the NVR wouldn't be THIS shitty. Maybe I can contact SCW and they can make updates for the remote button functions

maybe I can just, use this if he can't stand the remote

              https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003L14ZTC

I have this air remote at home that works pretty good

              https://www.amazon.com/Keyboard-WeCh.../dp/B07HB248H6

Edit: I put an ethernet four drop in his office.
Gigabit to switch for his two computers and printer
Cat3 fax (cat 3 crimped to a twisted pair)
Future mentioned 4K video over ethernet
              this usb device.

              Glad I put four
