Reusing an old laptop screen

Hi all,

I'm looking at reusing an old laptop screen with a controller board.

Below is a picture of the screen and the link is to a controller board on Ebay.

Does anyone have experience of doing this and could share a few words of guidance?

One question: Does the power to the controller board provide illumination power for the screen?

Looks like the controller board also drives the backlight led, that's the separate (white) plug attached to the lvds cable

I think it's a LCD with a LED back light.

how do you program it?
you have to tell these things the panel spec.
some use jumpers - others use firmware uploads.
