Re: Does FB mean fuse also?
Whoa!
Dark grey SMD of this type are ferrite that has physical characteriscs that filters DC of (blocks) noise and is NOT a fuse. And does not have a marking on it to state the fuse current rating. Like a letter, or a number even a number with "A" on the end.
Have to be careful with the location marks. I have seen different markings like FSxxx, etc, CV, QV etc, even TVxxx lately that could mean anything for component locations (transistor, resistors, diode etc).

Re: Does FB mean fuse also?
I do not know about all the fuses on a motherboard. However I do know any half decent board will have fuses on the USB interface. However some of the cheaper boards do not have fuses and some just use a jumper instead of a fuse.Comment

Re: Does FB mean fuse also?
USB usually have fuse of some types, two types actually. One that is thermal resettable fuses that opens up when it get too much current. Remove current and cools off, conductivity restored. Cheap boards had one time fuse that blows and you are SOL.
The crummiest boards have none and is dangerous to have (insurance adverse and fire hazard).
