Re: Compaq hard drive down for the count

I'll have to re-check what model it is. I remember from your other post that the 12E is the major mobo killer.

I might just get a delta dps-300kb off ebay, I just bought one and it is probalby one of the better built 300w deltas. I posted it in the psu pictorial. Bigger heatsinks, more filtering, nichicon primaries and all Ltec with one rubycon secondary with a adda fan. It just dosen't have sata, but, I still have the 6 molex->sata converters that came with my Tpower.

He just means they have badcaps in them.

Its actually a AcBel, which are nice its just they use mostly OST and other caps in their units.

Coolermaster for the most part dosen't make their own fans, and their more simple stock type heatsinks aren't made by them. Not even sure they would even have extrusion machines for those.

Re: Compaq hard drive down for the count

OST, Ltec, Capxon are all like teapo. Fine in psu's, not good on motherboards.

All my delta's except for my 700W delta have at least some Ltecs in them. Lower end seasonics and most FSP's have OST.

**Need Help Unlocking BIOS and Hard Drive on Dell Precision 5820 Tower**
                by federalhouse
                Hi everyone,

I'm in need of assistance with a Dell Precision 5820 Tower. The BIOS is locked with "Dell Security Manager," preventing access to the HDD-1 hard drive.

                **Background:**

I recently purchased this Dell Precision 5820 Tower from a recycler who salvages equipment from abandoned office spaces. The computer was left behind by its previous owner and was password locked. Given that it can run Windows 11, I saw this as an opportunity to upgrade my setup.

                **What I've Tried So Far:**

PC case - Hard drive rails
                by tmcw
A friend gave me his old PC case (with MB, and PSU), but no hard drive rails, he said he only used the 2.5" SSD spot inside, and used an external hard drive for data. He said that he'd have a look for the supplied rails, but I doubt he'll find them.

So I was wondering if case manufacturers used any type of standard 3.5" hard drive rail?

I'm used to the various Dell hard drive caddies or rails (and HP and Lenovo to a lesser extent), or el cheapo cases where you screw through the frame to fix the drive.

Now, the case is a CiT Gaming Case, and...

bug of the month: write caching setting for the hard drive in device manager
                by ChaosLegionnaire
i recently bought a new wd re4 2tb with 2014 datecodes. when i got around to testing it tho in victoria hd tester, the write speed was very slow at 14 mb/s with a 256 sector transfer size. when i increased the transfer size to 1024 sectors, the write speed increased slightly to 44 mb/s. read speeds and sector verify speeds were fine and at normal speeds.

so i just ass-u-med the drive's poor performance was due to it being an advanced format drive and i was using it on winxp. when i tried cloning my system disk to this wd re4 2tb drive and writing to it in linux, the write speed...
