    now thats a capacitor

I've seen some posts on here that refer to a "beer can" capacitor.....and when I do I have to chuckle......I work on some thermal transfer printers that have the mother of all capacitors in them 12000uf (not 1200) 63v 35mm in dia. and 50mm in length......now thats a beer can

I don't recall the uF but I've seen similar in the PSU for old Laserjet 4 series.
    They are usually Rubycon too.

Industrial caps can actually be as big as 55 gallon drums.

      Hi Pflowers!

Why not stop by your local Best Buy?

They carry 1 Farad capacitors in the car audio section. I saw them when I was looking for a new car radio. They have that "I am an extremely dangerous capacitor" look about them.

Imagine putting one of them in the fire! BANG!
I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the jumper wires backwards

I heard that the Large Hadron Coillider at CERN broke down because of Fuhjyyu caps.

Many years ago I used to work for an organization which got donations of old computer junk which was fixed up for schools. Quite often we would get odd stuff that really wasn't useful like old 14" hard drives and dedicated WP stations. Usualy we would tear them down for scrap and keep anything interesting. Often the power supplies were linear designs with huge caps in them. Got several "beer can" caps out of them from 50,000 to 500,000 (not a typo) uf. Usually under 20 V rating.
