Anyone else find this board interesting?

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813138113

Yes, it's a Biostar and yes it has some OST's on it.

The main features I found interesting were the:

    1. Hybrid SLI
    2. HDMI, DVI, and VGA
    3. Full ATX
    4. CPU options. I can pick from quite the line-up that AMD has out now.
    5. DX10, PCI-E 2.0

    Thoughts?

In that there's such a wide variety of things you could do with it. HTPC being one. It looks like it tries to do everything for $90.

i think you can find same thing without ost from other mfrs...
        perhaps

though those pix aren't good enough to see the caps...

there are also boards with ati/amd chipsets which should have ok onboard gpu, so i don't see anything special about this biostar board...

          Oh, let me see...

Micro-ATX (may be a plus in some circumstances)
          Costs more (although not much)
No MDV card for extra displays (it's optional on the Biostar) (Take a look on Biostar's website to see what it is.)
No mosfet cooling which is kind of important with 125w Phenom chips

Since no editing options are available...

The electrolytic caps it uses are UCC. I'll give you that. I zoomed in on the picture (you can do that on some Newegg pics.) They're KZsomething. It looks like KZG to me.

I have one. Its probibly gonna get recapped. They have the OSTs right next to the heatpipe by the vrms... one of the OSTs are literally up against the heatpipe cooler and it gets hot! This thing is so cluttered once you install the memory. My heatsink was hitting the memory so I had to put my memory in slots 3 and 4.

Im not too worried about the OSTs too much. I have a 7 year old Matsonic motherboard with all OSTs around the vrms and they are still good.
