    Wassa Good Burn-in/Testing Program? ??

I want something that doesn't require a full blown OS install to run it so I can move it from MoBo to MoBo without reconfiguring the software/drivers.
    - But it needs to actually work/test everything. (As much as possible.)

All the ones I have now are Windows based.
Only had to do this now and then the last couple years but I have about 40 boards I need to go through at the moment and I don't wanna fuss with the software.

Any good ones that I can add to say a Knoppix or Ubuntu CD or something?

In past I used Hot Cpu Tester Lite (freeware), but it requires Windows.
Now I use Ultimate Boot CD: a linux based cd with some nice dos diagnostics and tools.
There isn't a burn-in tool, but Mersenne test (for cpus), Memtest (ram) and drive diagnostics (hard disks) work fine for me as a replacement.

I use UBCD also. There should be Lucifer, a system burn in prog, and CPU burn on there.

Another alternative is using BART-PE to run diagnostics programs from a known-good operating system.

The problem with BART is, the application programs have to be stand-alone execution, not the usual Registry + "do you want to reboot now" crap. That means the programmer actually has to know something, other than how to call the endless stream of Microsoft macros.

I use BART with the DriverPack mass storage drivers. This lets it load on any current or obsolete disk controller system. All I have to do is keep the .7Z driver pack file current when I recompile BART. I do this regularly, to keep my antivirus files current.
