    Re: Flash?

Yep. I don't have any issues and as long as it's kept updated i have little to fear from exploit kits. YouTube defaults to HTML5 now so it's rarely used anyway.
Generally the only time Flash gets used is then i watch TV online through my ISPs website as it claims Chrome is out of date.

      Re: Flash?

Flash isn't dead yet. HTML5 may be capable of largely replacing its functionality, but not every website has it implemented yet. Besides, I don't think it's as bloated or badly written as everyone makes it out to be. Even my 8 year old Thinkpad T60 with onboard Intel graphics has absolutely no problem with 1080p flash videos.
I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the jumper wires backwards

        that's bullshit,
the exploits are used long before they go public.

maybe if adobe didnt keep putting backdoors & stuff in, it wouldnt need constant updates!!

Develop in Flash? No, this isn't the 90s. Occasionally come across a website that uses Flash Player? Of course! But slowly those are being phased out for newer standards which is great.

There is a difference between those that find them and those that use exploit kits.

              Adobe adding backdoors is bullshit.

I actually avoid flash as much as possible. I do have the Chrome flash but all plugins are set to click-to-run. Typically if it wants Flash (or any plugin) I don't use it.

if you actually wrote code like i did for years, you would know that a bug almost always crashes the program or breaks something.
it does NOT give someone remote access or change priveliges.
that takes a lot of extra code, not screwing a byte or 2.

as more people learn how to use computers the old bullshit about "hackers can take over your machine because of a bug in the browser etc." is not going to wash any more!

I don't need to code to know about bugs, whilst i agree a bug on it's own is mostly harmless, they have been used for years as a jumping off point for other activities. The bug allows for other code to be injected, so i would say that bugs do allow hackers to take over a machine.

This year again at PWN2OWN every one of the browsers was compromised by a bug, leading to privilege escalation.
So yes they can take over your machine due to bugs, that's what the many exploit kits such as Blackhole, Mpack, White Lotus etc use, although most attack addons suck as Flash, Java and Adobe reader.

                      Hi all,
I’m trying to recover a Lenovo Yoga Slim 7-14ARE05 with board DA0LS3MBAF0 Rev:F. I’ve run into an unusual issue where USB-C PD is stuck at 4.7–5V and the system won’t boot (keyboard lights flash briefly, then nothing).
🔥 The Problem Started After Suspected ESD/PD Fault
I experienced a power issue or ESD event through a USB-C charger
After that, the NX20P5090 power switch was visibly burned and was replaced
Now the PD controller always negotiates 5V @ 2A, even with known-good chargers

Nikon D800 camera - flash don’t work and capacitor don’t charge
                      by corrize
                      Hello, I'm stuck in troubleshooting…
The flash system works like that : when the (mechanic) flash button is pressed, the flash mecanically pop up, and a circuit buck boost elevate 7v (batt) to 200-300v (?) for charging the big capacitor. And when the photo shoot button is pressed, the capacitor is discharged in the xeon light.

In the D800, there is a first « power board » close to the battery. 2 wires (batt 7v) goes to another little « flash board ». I measured 7v, so ok.
When I press the flash button, it's detected by the system, flash icon appear on LDC display....

Canon VIXIA HF S10 A read data from inernal flash memory.
                      by abajor
Hello I've had somebody bring in one of these charming little cameras to attempt retrieving data from the internal 32GB flash.
Something is damaged inside the cameras lens assembly I can hear it clunking around and it has probably dislodged the sensor, powering up the camera gives a blank screen and the focus motor sounds like it's having a fit.
The camera will not connect to a computer via USB in this state, I have no options no navigation, just power up and focus/zoom motor noises.

I think my best shot is to figure out a way to read the internal flash memory outside...

4 red flash led 65X950G boot Sony and android logo but then black
                      by Ihandyrepair
                      HI guys

I got here a Sony 65X950G - I tried to find any repairs guides for this model but not many online

                      here is the issue
I have Sony and android logo. but then 4 led red flash lights front of the tv

I have 3.3v ref. 12v reg then T con 12v when I press the power on button
but then I get black screen and 4 red flash light at the front LED
but I get 3 led flash on the LED driver board.

I check that few X900F or C YouTube repairs, seems that if you have 4 led red flash it could be due of LED black light error
                      so I tried...
