Intel mobo has power management problem

This Intel motherboard D101GGC has ATI Radeon chipset, 512 MB ram, 3.06 GHz P4, 80 GB SATA hdd, Windows XP Pro SP3. I was hoping that software for the chipset would fix the problem, but no such luck. After the computer shuts down, and off, and is given a rest for a few minutes, it will not start again normally. Instead, it will briefly fire up (3 seconds), and then shut off, and cannot be started again unless I remove power from the board until the mobo power light goes off. The only way the computer starts after such an event, is when I flip the toggle on the power supply to ON, and the computer starts as if the front power button had been pressed. But sometimes this power-supply start doesn't happen, and I must remove the power and try again. Well, this is not good. Can this problem be something other than a bad power supply?

Sometimes you need to break shit to fix it.... Thats why my lawnmower doesn't have a deadman switch or engine brake anymore

Huh? The D101GGC is not a Dell motherboard.
I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the jumper wires backwards

Re: Intel mobo has power management problem

It's actually branded Hatch. The Windows sticker (with key) says HATCH. I couldn't find any Hatch support, but I did find all the drivers I needed at Intel. The number that ID'ed the mobo was "AA D35788-310". Everest did not identify motherboard or chipset, or sound or video. Only the Realtek sound and Realtek LAN chips were visible for ID on the mobo.

Here's the driver page, it was the first Intel board that wasn't actually made by Intel, we had loads at my last place that all had to go when we upgraded to Windows 7 as they weren't supported.

If it's a Delta, LiteON, Neuton, or HiPro OEM, it might be worth trying to repair it. Could simply be just a bad capacitor on the 5VSB - easy fix!

I've had one HiPro with a faulty 5VSB. Found a shorted diode and fixed it. This was 3 years ago and PSU is still functional.
Bestec may also be worthy of fixing, depending on model. AVOID the Bestec ATX-250-12E and possibly ATX-1956D.

Problem with LG Plasma 60PM6700 - Random power downs
                by theone111
I have an LG Plasma TV 60PM6700 for the past ~12 years.

In the last ~3-4 months I have been having some issues.
                1. Problem: It started with random picture disappearing (sound still worked).
Frequency: Happened about once a week.
Solution: Had to turn off TV wait a few seconds before turning it on again.
                2. Problem: Then it got worse and the TV started to shut down and when turning on the no picture just sound.
Frequency: Happened about once a week.
Solution: Had to turn off TV wait about 10-20 seconds and turn it on again to solve.
                3. Problem: TV shuts down

Asus x512dk rev 2.1 power on problem
                by Duranitron
When I reflash again the bios of hoaca388 the unit powers on and the unit lives!!! Hooray!! All voltage in the coil 3.3v, 5v and 6.7v indicate charging are all present. including the cpu voltage , EEPROM and GPU voltage the unit is now alive, normal screen booting to windows and log in screen until I power it off. Then the unit never goes on even when pressing the power button in the keyboard.. Voltage reading 19v main , 3.3v VCC in IT8225E-128 and EEPROM VCC 0 volt and the charging voltage 0 volt.

Try to trace the power switch button goin to the power switch IC PU8803 (APL3533AQBI-TRG)...

Hello, trying to fix C9 55 inch. I have pulled the back and all looks completely normal with nothing burnt so far. This is first time attempting to fix a tv so any help is appreciated.

Problem. I hit power button, red light on TV turns off and tries to turn on, no picture shows up and then shuts off. This occurred after house power turned on and off, not from a storm.

I have tested the power going from power supply to main board, all 12v and 20 volt readings are proper when I hit power button.

The power supply to t con is different story.

Help please..Lenovo ideapad 5 14itl05 power and charging problem
                by Dr.d
I have a lenovo ideapad 5 14itl05, board LA-K321P, That will only power up on Battery only, or with battery disconnected and power adapter only. If battery is connected and usb-c power plug connected. It only works on battery and will not charge. I can however force it to charge by connecting the battery from a disconnected state while the power USB c plug is powering the laptop.

Additionally....to add to this strange situation. The usb-c power plug ONLY works to power the laptop on one side when inserted into the boards power usb c plug. If you rotate it 180 degrees, the board gets...

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
                by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...
