    Outlook 2013 Outlook.com Problems

I for the first time finally decided just to use a desktop email client not just Outlook.com (Hotmail) web interface, since as soon as I go to the website I'm logged in on Skype and I don't like that.

However now it's not working well. It downloaded all 37,588 emails from my Hotmail but now new ones don't show properly. It also takes like five minutes for it to sync new emails.

I am using Microsoft Office Outlook 2013. I do not like Thunderbird.

If you look at the screenshot you will see what I mean. Thanks!

I stay far away from any email I have to download (pop) unless it goes to a specific machine and can be protected from the rest of the network. Web Based Email is bad enough.

M$ sucks. period. it breaks to easy (windows), its put together very shitty with shity parts (Xbox), they build software to purposely break (UEFI, but apple pioneered in that.), some of their DRM is absolute CRAP (activeX) (UEFI, thanks again apple) (XB0NE 1 needing to stay connected to the 'net) and broken software (you shouldn't need to re-boot windows because you don't update the kernel)!
Things I've fixed: anything from semis to crappy Chinese $2 radios, and now an IoT Dildo....

Excuse me while i do something dangerous

You must have a sad, sad boring life if you hate on people harmlessly enjoying life with an animal costume.

Sometimes you need to break shit to fix it.... Thats why my lawnmower doesn't have a deadman switch or engine brake anymore

It's not POP3. It's Exchange ActiveSync. Why they didn't just use IMAP I don't know.

But does anybody have any useful suggestions rather than "M$ Suxx0rs!

I use outlook from office 2003....never had issues....and my machine has zero antivirus on it. If people just exercise a little common sense, it stops most malware dead in its tracks.

To make this thread actually useful, the solution was to change the setting from updating every 30 minutes to every 1 minute.

Common sense is the best antivirus or should I say Uncommon sense?

I agree, but it sucks badly at the newer PHP versions.
I switched to Roundcubemail, it's absolutely lovely!

Round cube is the default on pretty much all Linux mail servers now. Anybody here have use. the new Horde? Big improvement but still meh.

If you want awesome webmail RainLoop is the way to go though.

I reckon office 07 was the best looking. 2010 was slightly uglier, and 2013 looks like office 95 with a ribbon interface. I rarely use M$ office at all, though (except for Outlook). I'll take Open/Libre Office over any version of M$ office any day.

Back on topic, though, I use POP3. Imap doesn't work well in outlook

The new interface is a lot more modern even though there are some things I like about the old UI better. But the new one is overall a bit nicer of an experience.

Recently I discovered my SSD died (OCZ/Toshiba 240 GB). It was in a USB enclosure, attached to the Linksys WRT-AC1200 router. Since then I removed the USB enclosure and attached it to my Win7 PC (AMD 8150 CPU, 970 chipset, 64 GB RAM). I also gathered one or two other USB enclosures to figure out what is going on.

(I suspect that I lost quite a few MP3 and FLAC files I recently ripped from my audio CDs, I think I lost very little un-replaceable stuff.)

I think it is IMPOSSIBLE for Win7 to have any problems with a USB enclosure as long as Win7 knows how to speak to the...

Need help to solve some problems with this laptop.

After working in bed with it one night and heating up too much (probably the cause of this problems) the sata HDD OS windows froze
After restart the original Sata HDD was not recognized anymore (but works fine in other laptops or PCs)

Tried connecting other good Sata 2.5 HDDs but not one is working in this laptop anymore (not the original nor others)

Before this had happened I observed some other problems:
When I tried replacing original mecanical HDD with a SSD HDD could not get them...
